Streaming Michigan Games internationally (FB & BB)

Submitted by nmajali on

Saw a couple of people ask about this, so as an international Michigan fan I'm always streaming the games, especially on the go. I would recommend the following sites for fans who are either traveling or living abroad (these streams apply to Michigan Football and Basketball):

1- if on ABC or ESPN : ESPNPLAYER.com   - PAID service where u can just subscribe for one game or week if u want

2- if on BTN : http://international.btn2go.com - PAID service same as espnplayer

3- on either you can use any of the free streams (example first row sports): http://firstrowusa.eu, another good one is http://stream2watch.com

4- If you have a cable subscription in the US, e.g. Comcast, you get online access to thier feeds, now usually those work only from US based IPs so you will have to do an IT work around for those to work internationally.

Now your other issue is internet speed, if hotel or apartment internet is good enough then just use that, otherwise i recommend you buy a dongle and sim for your laptop (from any mobile provider), or just buy a 4G data sim for your ipad or smartphone and download the app of espnplayer or btn2go (note I usually have issues with accessing free streams on mobile browsers!)

The only games I ever have a problem viewing are those on Fox TV and that was only this season with the UTAH game!

On the other hand when it is a game at Notre Dame (which won't happen anytime soon) those are provided as a free stream on NBCsports.com

Hope this helps..

Thanks.  This is helpful, and will promptly be burried on the board.  Later (probably around mid-day tomorrow), you will see at least one thread titled,

"Where to watch the game in Zurich",

at which point you will know that your thread has been buried

For #4, I think there are services like Unblock-US.com where - for a small fee - you can get the ability to do some IP spoofing and make networks act as if your machine is in the United States. I know that this is how some folks abroad get American Netflix content anyway, but I assume that there are other services / methods for doing it.

a few years. When we got Harbaugh, I went back to a satellite provider for HD picture quality, DVR, etc.

I have a 20 Mbps DSL connection (not terribly fast) over wifi, and never had serious issues with buffering from First Row. I also like the streams because the commercials are usually cut (ESPN splash screen & funky Muzak). Every once in a while you'll get Canadian commercials.

The video quality isn't HD, but the past two years it didn't matter. Harbaugh!

I wish we could have "stickies" or perhaps a new tab entitled "Knowledge" or the like. Since I'll be out of the country for the PSU and OSU games, I'm going to copy and paste the post into Notepad. Thanks OP!

Hola plugin for Google Chrome, and watching via WatchESPN.com works for me.

And this past week, btn2go worked free internationally with a cable login.

I currently live in Honduras and it says the ESPN player is not available in this region. I tried opening it through Hola, and that didn't work either. If it is a paid subscription, I don't know why they would block it out of country.

However, I have a subscription to BTN international and they also have the replays of the games televised on ESPN and ABC. I don't think they show the live games on ESPN/ABC.

I was wondering if any one can enlighten me on these streams. The one posted last week for the BIG network worked, but I struggle to find updated links for other networks. I've tried googling and message boards, but haven't had any luck. Does anyone know a good repository for active links? They often seems to be of better than firstrow et al., so I'd really like to figure this out. Thanks.

WorldTV Plus app for iphone/ipad has BTN. It's very ad-heavy but its free and it works. Stream quality is decent. It's a lot like firstrowsports.com.

I am living in France (for the past 10 yrs).  I have Big Ten To Go International and ESPN Player International.  This normally gets me nearly all games (except Away non-conference games on NBC/CBS/Fox for BB/FB).

So for ND-UM 2018, I reached out to the NBC/ND streaming site and they said that I can watch it in France, but can't "buy" it in France (like I would need to go to a nearby country to buy it...).

Outside of VPNs/Illegal sites, I think this is my only option...  Anyone else facing similar challenge to watch the game?  Anyone have streamed games from ND NBC site internationally?

<not sure anyone will read this, but this seemed to be the most recent thread on international...>
