Spring 2014 Roster

Submitted by FreddieMercuryHayes on

Mentioned this in the video thread, but after closer analysis (as compared to MGoBlog's Fall 2013 Roster Overanalysis), I'm confident enough to post.  The spring 2014 roster with updated weights:

But every time it comes up, I'm going to tell the world, I'm a Khalid Hill backer. I don't know why, but I think he's going to get in there, bang heads, and be tough and versatile.

This hould probably be saved for one of our myriad "who will be our pleasant surprise player" threads, but I'm going to throw it out there anyway. I'm hoping he sees some action this year.

Finally some stability in the OL weights instead of putting guys out there who just underwent huge changes to their bodies.

I love basketball, and I can't wait for MLB to start, but I really really really wish September would get here so I had Michigan football in my life. I need the 2013 taste washed out of my mouth.

if they're going more w/ 4 down linemen and a detached SAM over the slot, that gives the 3T and 5T roles a lot more separation. 3T is going to see more doubles and has to plug gaps. 5T has to set the edge, pass rush, drop into coverage a bit. until some of them start to show real separation in strength or quickness, i think looking at weight's probably the best proxy for position.

in which case: Wormley and Godin to 3T, Poggi and Strobel to 5T.

is it just me, or do our linebackers seem light? the ones in the 230s aren't bad, but the average seems to look like a smallish fellow. maybe I'm comparing our guys with league guys in my mind...

I just looked at Brian's list and saw Beyer's weight. I must've missed him on the mercury list. even still, I didn't think of him as a linebacker, but more of an end. having him in the linebacker group raises the average to a slightly larger fellow. I hope this year sees us throwing juggernauts and hulks at opposing offenses come spring...

Years from now, we’ll be reading about how University of Michigan alumni Dr. Joseph Burzynski (Biomedical Engineering Major) and Dr. David Alexander Mitropoulos-Rundus (Cellular and Molecular Biology Major) have teamed up to win the Nobel Prize in Biology.

I just noticed that the #2 jersey is not filled.  I hope by this Fall that we can find a stud CB to fill that jersey.  Anyone know of any who might fit the bill?
