Just got me super pumped! Imagine 100,000 of them flying in the air as we take the field!
In the words of Bart Scott...CANT WAIT!

I know that the original intention last year was to make it an actual techno show, but a lot of techno/electronic doesn't translate especially well to marching band, so it became more of a "club/rave/dance party" type show.
Still, I'm excited for it, I think it's going to be pretty sweet.

man Brandon is really increasing the WOW factor
September 8th, 2011 at 5:51 PM ^
It's starting to look and feel more like Wrestlemania than football.
Michigan vs Notre Dame doesn't need any of that crap. The game should stand on its own, especially with both teams being perceived as "resurgent" by the media. It works great at WM because WM is a show. The last time I checked, Michigan vs ND was still supposed to be a football game.
I sure am glad Brandon cares soooo much about "Michigan Tradition."

And Tater would have a problem with how he did it. ("He's just using the PR to sell jacked up 'Michigan 1, Cancer 0' t-shirts for $25...it's all about the 'brand'l)

Pom-poms are good. The 1997 Ohio State game had pom-poms. I don't think it had 100,000 of them, though.
September 8th, 2011 at 5:21 PM ^
Pom-Poms seem to fit Michigan fans well!
September 8th, 2011 at 10:09 PM ^
but my addled brain can't recall which game I got the maize pom-pons from - sometime in the last 5 years. With at&t advertising on them. I don't think it's that rare of a swag item.
September 8th, 2011 at 5:15 PM ^
due to the fact that i live right next to Elbel, and can hear the band practice daily. It sounds great. Techno is going to be sweeettttt
September 8th, 2011 at 5:30 PM ^
Also a note on anybody who doesn't like the idea of pom poms and techno, I will gladly purchase your ticket.
September 8th, 2011 at 5:49 PM ^
I fell bad for the 9,000 fans that wont be getting pom-poms
September 8th, 2011 at 6:02 PM ^
No need to feel bad. The majority of those 9,000 are probably ND fans.
September 8th, 2011 at 5:52 PM ^
MMB needs to add Sandstorm to that shit!

Also, glowsticks would've made more sense but I'm sure there is a rule against that.
September 8th, 2011 at 6:01 PM ^
Dave Brandon is grounded!
We had that lightswitch installed for you so you could turn the lights ON and OFF, not so you could throw lightswitch raves!
Now let's go break open that glowstick and pour it into Brian Kelly's Mountain Dew. I heard they have to pump your stomach when you drink that stuff.

Alabama enters to thunderstruck and our fans have a problem with us entering to In the Big House...
September 8th, 2011 at 6:30 PM ^
and from what I saw there are going to be some cool effects accompanying the techno. That's all I'll say.
September 8th, 2011 at 7:30 PM ^
.........challenge accepted

Magnus?
September 8th, 2011 at 8:50 PM ^
I seriously can't stand techno... I don't understand why Brandon is playing that.
September 8th, 2011 at 9:23 PM ^
I had this mental image of Brandon at the 50 UTLs at halftime working a sound board, all by himself.
September 8th, 2011 at 10:11 PM ^
needs a photoshop treatment
September 8th, 2011 at 10:11 PM ^
Scott Boerma, the Marching Band Director, likely chose the show. He's the same guy that when an exciting moment approaches, fires up Michael Jackson's thriller, because, you know, it's thrilling...
September 8th, 2011 at 10:17 PM ^
Damn, lots of boomers in here hating on the techno. You're starting to sound like the blue hairs complaining about people standing up too much.
September 8th, 2011 at 11:41 PM ^
Right? I mean this is sort of a heritage thing, given that Detroit was the birthplace of techno. I think its completely fitting, and absolutely not outside the realm of an acceptable college football halftime show these days.
September 8th, 2011 at 11:30 PM ^
I know the guy who put the show together and I love Techno. You haters don't know what you're talking about.
September 8th, 2011 at 11:39 PM ^
pom poms - no
techno band - yes
September 10th, 2011 at 5:16 PM ^
Anyone know when the Desmond ceremony is going to be?
