Police presence at #Rutgers football practice today. Coach Flood says he will coach team on Saturday. No announcement to email issue yet.

Practice should end around noon at Rutgers. Never seen police control the entrance in my 8 years here.

Low hanging fruit and all, but their game against us?
September 3rd, 2015 at 1:25 PM ^
I hope we hang 50 on those greasy NJ fucksticks this year. Their fans are just the worst. A form of life on par with the worst Ohio has to offer. They must never be allowed to beat Michigan again.

child sex abuse apologists are right down there with them.

Sure it is. Rutgers is going to re-hire Greg Schiano.

Stay Classy Rutgers!
September 3rd, 2015 at 12:40 PM ^
Weird. I wonder if there were some threats as the result of this whole fiasco. I can't see why police would be needed if it was a (relatively) simply investigation about coach/professor contact.
September 3rd, 2015 at 12:47 PM ^
threaten anyone about it?

Nothing but love for James Gandolfini, big fan.

Seems like an overreaction, but what else could it be?
September 3rd, 2015 at 12:41 PM ^
My parents always told me that if I cheated on my schoolwork the police would come and take me away. Guess they weren't kidding.

From what I've read elsewhere, the issue is the intent in Flood contacting the professor.
The allegation is that he contacted the professor to pressure him/her into giving one of his players a certain grade (totally unacceptable behavior and would be grounds for firing, in my opinion).
But the alternative version is that Flood simply contacted the professor to see what the student could do to get his grades up (even that I'd say is not super appropriate, but not nearly as big of a deal).
September 3rd, 2015 at 1:17 PM ^
Shouldn't the student be contacting the professor to see what they can do to get their grade up?
September 3rd, 2015 at 1:42 PM ^
for him to stop.badgering him.
September 3rd, 2015 at 2:46 PM ^
I will not Gopher that excuse.
September 3rd, 2015 at 2:57 PM ^
It is a rather beknighted approach.
September 3rd, 2015 at 1:13 PM ^
The article says that Rutgers has a policy that prohibits it. Probably to avoid coaches putting pressure on profs.
It also claims that Flood was told not to contact the prof and did so anyway.
Flood's retort at practice was to point out that he was told not to comment on the investigation, but that people from the university had talked to the press.
This is not going to end well.

Pretty bad when the head coach has to confirm on Thursday that he's going to be coaching on Saturday.

Trade Rutgers for UConn.
They aren't ass at every sport like Rutgers is.
