Mom went to UCLA, dad went to Cal, younger brother will be enrolling at Cal in the fall. Of course we've already taken out Cal, now it's time to take care of UCLA and establish once and for all the #1 school in my household: MICHIGAN. GO BLUE!

This Michigan Softball Team just seems to have the look and feel of something special, of a team that has all the pieces needed to go all the way and be one of the most legendary of all Coach Hutch's teams!

I know that to win a championship in any sport that there has to be the right combination of ingredients present along with a sprinkling of luck for good measure.    Look at all the memorable championship teams that each of us have either been a part of or have witnessed in our individual lifetimes:  it obviously takes a good amount of talent and a good amount of coaching, but also a good amount of timing, and at least a bit of good luck/good fortune.

I've played sports for much of my childhhood and adult life, besides having been a fan of several teams that have won it all in their respective sports; a lot of seemingly great teams have fallen short because there just hasn't been quite the right mix of ingredients.  Only time will tell (over the relatively compressed timeline of this Softball World Series) if the right mix is present for Michigan; I'm about as optimistic as I ever allow myself to be, when it comes to watching this particular team.

It's been a really wonderful season so far for the Michigan Team.  But there is still one goal that no doubt Hutch and her girls still have:  the prize at the far end of that set of brackets.  With last night's game already in the books, strap yourselves in, boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen---this series is gonna be one helluva thrill ride!!!

If Betsa gets out of this with 1 run or less...one thing about it...she will be very focused with her pitches.  This kind of inning FOCUSES a pitcher!
