Softball: Michigan vs. Ohio State open thread
GO BLUE. I played in a fast pitch softball league a couple of years ago. Hitting a softball is easily as hard as hitting a 90 mph fastball.
This sucks.
Down 5-1 headed to bottom of 5th.
I think Nichols ate all of our plate prowess.
The best hitter on or softball team is bigger and stronger than the best hitter on our baseball team.
=[ release the rally monkey
Jennie Ritter is killing me.
Jennie was one of my good friends freshman year. It's good to hear her on TV!
Unfortunately she's still super uncomfortable with the mic and starts saying things without knowing where she's going with them and works herself into terrible corners.
First game go final yet?
...as they were interviewing a not-so-happy Hutch. It was 4-0 Michigan at the beginning of the bottom of the 4th. By her comments, Michigan must have lost the first game.
It's now 4-1 Michigan, one out in the bottom of the 4th, runner on 2nd.
5-3.
Let's try and hold this lead.

Does anyone know how Bree Evans is doing? I assume she's not playing yet?

she's completely fine now, it looks like. The announcers said she's started every game this season, (literally, as she bats lead-off) so I would assume she made a full recovery from her injury. It was in September, I believe, so it was a pretty good amount of time ago...

and .413 in Big Ten games. I'm dumbfounded by a few things Ritter says--like "sometimes it's better to get an single than a home run because it keeps the rally going". Very Palinesque.

At least we salvaged the split. That was an absolute bomb by Chidester.
If anyone really wants to see the game and missed it, I'll probably have a torrent up on mgovideo in the next couple of days. If there's interest, I'll post a link back here when I get it uploaded. Just let me know one way or another.
...NFCA poll released prior to this doubleheader split had Michigan edging closer to No. 1 Washington.
The Huskies (37-5) garnered 19 of 30 first-place votes, while Michigan took home the other 11. In total points, Washington received 736 of a possible 750 to edge the Wolverines by just eight points.
