So tired of the refs cheating against Michigan
I get it. They don't like Jimmy and the conference wants O to win. But OSU is up 20 points in the second half and they still ignore pass I when O does it and allow them to target.
At some point either tell them to start calling it fair or face a loss of fans buying Big Ten merch. Literally, Michigan has more alums than anyone and they are going to stop watching when 90% of the calls go against them every time.

They could have called that game 100% in favor of UM and we'd still lose.
November 30th, 2019 at 7:12 PM ^
Not true. The lack of DPI calls is killing drives against OSU and PSU. Wolverine mistakes cost Michigan the game and OSU has more talent (Dobbins, wow) but the more PI isn't called the more the opponents DBs are NOT concerned about getting there early. Maybe the WRs don't make mistakes if they aren't trying to score twice on one play to make up for the last non-call or maybe they are thinking about an expected bad call. Wide receivers try to do more to make up for the refs. I am getting tired of it.
I know complaining about the refs is bad form, sour grapes, and it is not going to change anything but I am getting tired of it. Players are no longer getting called for hitting receivers early or grabbing arms from behind. Maybe Michigan should do more of it. (I know we grab jerseys as much as anyone.) Early bad calls weigh heavy for the rest of the game. Teams get desperate and have to go on 4th down in their own territory. Congratulations to OSU. The refs continue to disappoint.

Fox Sports stopped showing replays of blatant PI’s by Ohio State in the 2nd quarter
November 30th, 2019 at 4:13 PM ^
Quit crying. We got whipped again.
November 30th, 2019 at 7:16 PM ^
He is right. I wasn't sure about the PI on a couple of plays and enjoy the double check but they STOPPED showing replays of Michigan incompletions in the second half.
November 30th, 2019 at 3:47 PM ^
Are you kidding me?!?! These refs have been one of the few things that helped keep Michigan in this game. There were multiple holding calls that were missed most series against Michigan. This is the type of attitude that will keep the streak vs OSU alive for a long time. That wasn’t targeting or even close so just get over it and move on with your day. Wow
November 30th, 2019 at 3:53 PM ^
Let me be clear. The refs didn’t take the game from Michigan, but there was holding on OSU all game too.
November 30th, 2019 at 3:49 PM ^
Yeah, your take is ridiculous... the refs were not a problem today.
November 30th, 2019 at 3:51 PM ^
Hey OP, how many plays did the refs miss on OSU?
The ref thing is such a stupid take.
November 30th, 2019 at 7:19 PM ^
Geez, I was under the impression that Michigan fans didn't use the word "stupid" as it lacks precisioin and direction. So my guess is you were not educated in the state of Michigan.
November 30th, 2019 at 3:53 PM ^
Taking off Dobbins shoe, late hit out of bounds, jumping when OSU is punting, dropping who knows how many passes.....these are the things you need to be upset about.
November 30th, 2019 at 6:01 PM ^
To be fair, the late hit on Fields was really just a free shot. Almost no yardage assessed and they were already getting a free first down
December 1st, 2019 at 12:32 AM ^
Agreed, it was still a mental mistake but to your point, very little actual impact in penalty yards.
November 30th, 2019 at 3:57 PM ^
We got absolutely blown out of the water. Refs did not decide this game.
November 30th, 2019 at 4:01 PM ^
You are a dunce if you think the refs influenced anything today

November 30th, 2019 at 7:21 PM ^
Refs have no influence? Name calling? I smell an Ohio education here.
Edit: I think we need more clarity. If the refs have no influence, why are they there at all? At a minimum, their influence is to promote a clean game.
November 30th, 2019 at 8:18 PM ^
You’re right, if it weren’t for the refs Michigan would have won.
November 30th, 2019 at 4:03 PM ^
This wasn't 2016. Refs didn't decide today's game--Ohio State's unbelievably stacked roster did.
As someone who refuses to watch Ohio State play against anyone other than UM, the talent disparity on the two rosters was alarming... and UM recruits at a Top 10-ish level. I don't know how you "fix" that.
November 30th, 2019 at 4:10 PM ^
They didn't cheat. The more prepared team won. You make us look like stupid penn state fans with this kind of sissy talk. We got whipped by a better team with a better coach. Period!
November 30th, 2019 at 4:10 PM ^
The only complaint I had was the non call on the obvious delay of game where they gained huge yardage!
November 30th, 2019 at 4:10 PM ^
To everyone, I concur that Ohio would have won it but the game was slighted by the refs..
Some of the penalties on Michigan was duly noted and I concur..
But 2 consecutive PI no calls that killed our second drive?
Delay of game no call that lead to rb's TD catch.. Again, not saying that refs should just let go is a bit BS..
Targeting on a helmet to helmet is always a penalty.. Serious to think that was no call?
There were so many PI no calls that killed drives.. Shea is a rhythm QB and those did hurt us..
Again, to say they had no play would be a bit naive.. Would Michigan win? Most likely not but it would have been much competitive.
November 30th, 2019 at 6:02 PM ^
I’m sure this will go on deaf ears, but I’m going to say it anyway. If you watch a game through the lens of being a fan desperate for a win, of course you will see some missed calls that seem to all go against your team. Do you honestly think there weren’t a handful of missed calls that went against OSU as well? It’s always going to feel like refs are out to get you if you’re watching every play with such a strong bias towards one team. I did notice a few missed calls against Michigan, like the delay of game, but this stuff happens every game to every team. You just aren’t noticing because you’re not seeing the game from both perspectives
November 30th, 2019 at 7:33 PM ^
And yet, Kirk Herbstreet called out three bad calls going against Michigan in the PSU/Michigan tilt. I would not touch complaining about the lack of a holding call. I recognize that Michigan grabs wide receivers as much as anyone. HOWEVER, contact before the ball gets there is a measurable, observable offense and should be called. If you see a violation, call it. I do not care if there are 40 penalties a game. It is getting worse, as if the refs will not make a call unless they know they can make a call the other way.
November 30th, 2019 at 4:11 PM ^
Yeah it's the refs fault we lost by 29. It has nothing to do with their program having better coaches, better players and executing better
November 30th, 2019 at 4:11 PM ^
Stop it. We got put ass kicked fair and square.
2 star athlete, the "under the radar", 'trust the coaches" vs 5 star elete players is no fight at all.
We HAVE to do better recruiting if we want this to change. Stop whining about the officials.
November 30th, 2019 at 8:12 PM ^
Exactly right grow old !
November 30th, 2019 at 4:16 PM ^
I was in section 26, row 10. 75 from osu got away with no less than 5 holds. There were at least 3 pi/defensive holdings. None called. The targeting was the cherry.
we shot ourselves in the foot just as often. But, the refs shouldn’t have an effect on the scoreboard.
November 30th, 2019 at 4:28 PM ^
Since OSU had more penalties and more penalty yards than we did, I doubt that the fix was on.
You know when you’re a neutral party watching a game with someone who is cheering for their team. They yell hold on every play and they just sound idiotic yelling about the officials? That’s you right now.
As people are pointing out, we just don’t have the players across the board to compete with them. Unlike Iowa and Purdue, we can’t catch them off guard on a bad day. They bring it against us every year. I’m already throwing in the towel for next year In Columbus. 2021 back in AA will be our next shot at beating them.

This has to be a fake post. No one could be this delusional and whiny.
November 30th, 2019 at 4:51 PM ^
You are 100% correct but don't expect the pacifists to upvote this thread.
November 30th, 2019 at 5:58 PM ^
Bad look, OP. The Refs were not a problem. They pretty much didn't call anything for either side. What do you need to be upset about? Taking off a shoe in the scrum. Jumping offsides on a 4th and 4 punt. Kicking a MF field goal late in the game. 4th and 1 at the 30 and running it up the middle where there was no chance to make it. Being predictable. Being out coached by everybody and anybody. Making bone-headed mistakes on the field. This team lacks discipline. Be mad about that.
November 30th, 2019 at 9:06 PM ^
I liked the shoe thing. It's funny. It gives me something from this game to smile about.
December 1st, 2019 at 3:14 AM ^
Same here. That is one for the ages.
November 30th, 2019 at 6:17 PM ^
Refs had nothing to do with this one- they pretty much let them play- yes missed a couple PI’s early but they had nothing to do with the idiotic coaching decisions nor the idiotic shoe untying or late hit on Fields or Hudson completely not showing up in this game. This game is on the team and coaches. Period. 360+ days for us all to contemplate again. Getting to be a bad recurring nightmare.
December 1st, 2019 at 3:16 AM ^
I think refs have sapped a lot of momentum out of Michigan in some games from time to time, including this one and the PSU game.
