Snoop Dogg's Michigan Story

Submitted by BursleyHall82 on

This was from a 2015 interview, but they talked about it this morning on WTKA, so here it is. Back in 1997, on the eve of the Rose Bowl, Charles Woodson, Marcus Ray and some other U-M players knocked on Snoop Dogg's door. (And maybe this appeared on the board back in 2015; if so, SIAP.)

Anyway, here's Snoop telling the story to Rich Eisen.

It's a very Cool Story, Bro.

The Fab Five did the same thing the night before their NC game against UNC apparently.

Jalen says that they would have won the NCAAs if the game was not played in New Orleans.

True story or not, elite athletes on the doorstep to instant millions are in a different world than you and I.  They just are.

We can only watch in awe from afar.

Cool pic lol.

Listen to Sam Webb every day on podcasts now - since hearing about their show on this board. Marcus cracks me up when he is on there. His football knowledge is some of the best also. Anybody think he will end up on JH's staff at some point as a secondary back's coach?

The absolute best part about Charles is that he played his best games in Michigan's biggest games.  MSU, PSU Judgment Day, The Game, the Rose Bowl . . . he showed up big in all of them when it mattered most.

No Charles, no Michigan NC.

FYI Marcus Ray went nuts about this story on WTKA this morning. I couldn't stop laughing. He's quite the story teller to say the least. It's on his final segment on the podcasts. Well worth the listen.
