They don't "just do it." There's a process to be followed. The article states that the wolverine is on the Candidates list, meaning it will be evaluated in due time, when its turn comes. Not sure what the actual complaint is here.

The fact that there are only 300 of them in the contiguous states. Does that not constitute a priority? I guess we could spend our resources on the endangered Morro Island kangaroo rat instead. It's a much more iconic species.

to be considered. As I said, it doesn't happen by fiat, there's a process. Still not understanding what your complaint is.
300 of them is not a lot, but they tend to live in obscure places and are unlikely to be in any immediate danger. The difference between being added to the Endangered Species list now versus a couple years from now isn't particularly meaningful.

Is this SFW?

No, it talks about reproduction so it may cause undue harm to minors

Badgers - federal species of special concern
Gophers - pest
Spartans - ancient history
Nittany Lions - fictional
Buckeyes - nuts
Illini - derivative and offensive

Then I thought about if I were a conservationalist.
...supposed to be "...were a conservationist" or "...were a conversationalist"?

Dammit, you caught me. The extra syllable was just for flair. As an aside, is that a nuculer powered boat?
December 13th, 2010 at 3:50 PM ^
...not. That ship, is the USS NORMANDY (CG-60), a Baseline 3 Ticonderoga-class cruiser. Tico-class ships are powered by four LM2500 gas turbine engines.

Eh, I was hoping you picked up on the self deprication... although I assume you are Navy?

Nice. My BIL served on the Lake Erie, Shiloh, and Chancellorsville. He was also CO of the USS Chafee (DDG-90).
