if thats the decision he felt he needed to make thats fine. I am just glad that every other post on message boards won't be McGuffie rumors anymore.

Good for him. Honestly, I harbor no ill will toward the kid... I know that if I'd gone through everything he did a thousand miles from home in a strange, cold place I don't know I'd want to get out as soon as possible. Wish him luck wherever he goes.

Ugh, that sucks. I know that running back is a position of great depth, so this isn't the worst loss ever, but I was really excited to see what McGuffie had to bring the next couple years. Good luck elsewhere, Sam

I know it was a joke, but I feel it's worth saying. I think McGuffie is more of a Michigan Man than half the people ever given that designation. We're talking about a kid who, days after his grandmother's funeral with lingering depression and injuries, suited up against Ohio State and left it all on the field. He is a tough son of a bitch, and I for one will always cheer for him.

McGuffie seemed like one of those freaky guys who always seems to go somewhere else, and I was thrilled to have him at U^M (much like Freshman Stevie was the kind of return guy who's usually seen torching Michigan ... I'll never forgive Gittleson for slowing that Stevie down, but that's another story - where was I?) Anyway, put me down as one more wishing Sam the best of luck, and here's hoping he's had his last concussion.

He was MSU's sloppy seconds anyway. They could have had him, but they passed him onto us (just like Cameron Gordon). It says so on the Spartan Tailgate message board.

i bet a lot of people are going to take this the wrong way. BUT a lot of people really liked mcguffie because they really, really wanted to see him do well more so than probably any other guy on our team. Most other freshmen wouldn't get this type of love & admiration after leaving their program. how many people were sad to see artis chambers(i know not a fresh), weatherspoon, or taylor hill leave? with that said, i'll miss having him since i wanted to know what he'd be capable of in the next few years in maize and blue.
