SDSU on 9/24
SDSU at the Big House on Sept 24th. Is this game easier for us now because we have their former coach who knows their schemes on our sidelines? Or harder for us now because their new coach & players will be motivated to beat their former coach who left them?
GO BLUE!

Let's just say that it will be a win no matter how hard or how easy it is.

The SDSU players are definitely going to be up for it, and Chuck Long will know what our offense likes to do.
But they ain't ever seen a player like Denard...if, that is, he's still here.

It's a good thing that Chuck Long may not even watch the game. /s
Rocky Long, however, will know what our offense will do, and I am far more worried about him since he is SDSU coach.

Since he got fired and isnt an alum, I bet he doesnt even watch.

is a must win for Hoke. Along with every other non-conference game.

The most important game on the schedule (pounding fists).

I'm not ready to call a home night game against ND a probable loss. Tossup, maybe.

I think our guys will be really motivated to beat their coaches old team.
I feel much more comfortable about this game.

I think it benefits us more. Hoke is going to adapt his offensive and defensive schemes to his new personnel (he said as much today). However, especially with his former DC being named Head Coach and probably keeping the same system in place, Hoke knows the strengths and weakness of the players he recruited and coached over the past few seasons.

Easier because it's San Diego State.

Who probably would have beaten us this year......

on both sides. SDSU's running back will be a load to deal with. Better to play them in football on our turf than to play their basketball team right now.

They took our bball coach, and we take their football coach.

It makes me hope that within the next few years they will both have won a national championship in their career courtesy of the maize and blue.

It's easier because it is a Mountain West team that isn't coached by Peterson?
January 12th, 2011 at 4:01 PM ^
I think you mean patterson bud, peterson coaches at Boise.
January 12th, 2011 at 4:02 PM ^
I think you mean "Patterson." Or if you mean Petersen...I think you mean "WAC" team.
EDIT: Dammit, second time I've been beaten today. Gotta be quicker on the draw.

Apparently, I have trouble keeping my coaches straight now. I am so confused lately.....who did we hire again?

On the iphone, newer posts go to the top.

Boise is joining the Mountain West for the 2011 football season, so technically the OP was correct. With either Petersen and Patterson you can't go wrong.

last night reporting that Michigan hired Hoke blah, blah, and then they said Hoke replaced Jim Harbaugh at SDSU. Seriously ESPN?
January 12th, 2011 at 4:35 PM ^
I thought he was replacing John Cooper at Ohio State......

Jim who?

Their program has now been seriously disrupted by the coaching change. Playing an intact SDSU in its third year under Hoke most likely would have been tougher - especially since Hoke would have had a pretty big chip on his shoulder if we'd passed him over.
