SB looks to rebound @ NEB

Submitted by MGoSoftball on

The SB Team looks to have a much better day at the plate today as compared to yesterday.  In yesterday's loss, M only mustered 4 hits in a 1-0 loss.

Today, Romo hit a 2 run HR in the top of the 1st for an early 2-0 lead.  It looks like the bats were put in the oven over night to warm them up.

Sara gets the ball to start the game in the circle.

After facing runners at the corners with no outs, Betsa comes in and rescues the inning, ceding just a run!  2-1 heading into the 7th.  We really could use some insurance here - one run lead makes me very nervous!

Ask, and you shall receive!  HUGE 2 run blast from Si-Lo, and Michigan leads 4-1 with one out, top 7!  Some much-needed runs to give Betsa little more to work with when she comes back out.

Great reponse. Glad Romero has now silenced the idiots on commentary at BTN about her play in lincoln.

They kept trotting out the same tired stat, 40 times last night. Ignoring the fact that Michigan has only played at Nebraska once prior to this year since they joined the conference: her freshman year 3 years ago.

Great bounceback win!  An side note about the scheduling:

It's really too bad the Big Ten does their softball schedules based on the football East/West divisions (where you play your conference travel partner (ours is MSU) two games, everyone else in your division three games, and only face two teams from the other division).  I wish Michigan would play Minnesota and Nebraska (almost) every year.  At least Ohio State is good this year.

Since the Big Ten expansion Michigan has played 3 game series against the West division:

2015: @ Minnesota, vs. Iowa

2016: @ Nebraska, vs. Northwestern

Which means they'll see neither of the top West Division teams next season, which could make for an even weaker than usual conference schedule.
