been through that same intersection many times.  played football down the road from that accident the day before, IIRC.  sad stuff but wonderful story of overcoming adversity for tony elliott.  how could you not root for that guy.

Human hardship and perseverance.  It’s amazing what he went through and then to lose the one person who held it all together for him at such a young age.   His life is admirable.

And you don’t sense any anger.  He is a pretty incredible guy.

Dabo may be a bit hokie but I think he’s genuine.

This is a really cool story. I'm glad that Tony was able to make himself vulnerable and share some hurt from his past with someone he trusted. I'm also glad Dabo saw that vulnerability as a way to lift Tony up. This world needs more people being real about their pain and other people turning that pain into compassion and not using it to their own advantage.

IDK if Dabo runs a clean program or not.  I kind of doubt it and tend to think he hides behind the vail of his faith as others have done.  But, I do think he has a genuine likability to him.  His players and assistants alike seem to like him.

"But, I do think he has a genuine likability to him.  His players and assistants alike seem to like him."

Yep. I made this point earlier this season...

In 2018, Clemson had multiple DL players turn down millions as 1st round picks to win a *second* National Championship in their college careers.

No one does that for a head coach he doesn't like.

I'm not a very religious person so I don't care for Dabo's (or any coach's) use of faith but I realize that he's very grateful for how has life has turned out. I do think he's using a bit of Bobby Bowden's country bumpkin "aw shucks" shtick but that's probably, in part, some of who he truly is.

I think he gets "it".  He has very good leadership, relationship, & management skills.  I see him using a lot of self help/motivation Tony Robbins/7 Habits type stuff.  Most people are familiar with these skills, but most don't use them.  He's really good at using them and coming off as authentic about it.

I used to drive late at night, and there was a radio show on in Lansing/Ann Arbor/Metro Detroit I think on 97.1. The guy used to talk about “the power of sports.” He incorporated faith into his program. It sounds like a program destined for the midnight or later time slot, but it was actually enjoyable to praise peoples’ good works rather than talk about the bad things happening in sports and life. I surprisingly enjoyed it. This was 2009-2010, and Dabo was a frequent guest on the show and sounded like a positive guy. Again, I’m not making a judgement on his program, but I think there is some sincerity in his good works.

Dabo would be a great coach for Michigan. Many dipshits on this blog are too doltish and have their heads up their ass to figure that out.
