Saturday drinking thread 3.0 style

Johnny Walker Black and a Cuban cigar my buddy picked up in the Dominican Republic.  What’s in your glass and what’s going on tonight?

There is a large Doe hanging out below my balcony.

Finishing up at the bar. Been sipping captain and coke for the evening. Headed to the bbq shop down the road for a Sandwich or two, then back to the front porch for a cigar myself.

Drinking Tito's and lemonade with a friend who is in town because he's going through a divorce and his wife told his family he is going through a bad enough bipolar episode to get him to come back to Chicago. He agreed and is out from 10 days in a clinic getting evaluated. Had no idea about his diagnosis and we aren't that close and I don't really know why he trusted me to just lay it out there. Fortunately I'm familiar with the territory and he's on his meds but it's been interesting. We did smash some amazing Puerto Rican food; jibaritos are the shit.

I have a friend who called me to hang out. We aren't that close and I didn't know he was in town. He tells me he is going through a divorce and needs to just chill and get drunk. He then tells me he is bipolar and has never told any of our mutual friends. He tells me his wife called his family saying he needs to come back to Chicago because he is ill. He tells me he was in a clinic for 10 days but is all good. We watch Canadian gangster rap videos filmed at his condo after his wife moved out. He tells me some stories that stretch my limits to not judge bipolar individuals as "crazy." We eat delicious Puerto Rican food.

See for yourself... if I could embed I would. Watch at your own peril. https://youtu.be/EX9mzXQukTE

As for whatever Blue Boy thinks was "deep": not intending to impress anyone here, if that's the suggestion. I have my own experiences with mental illness, personally and friends/family. Today was an interesting one that fell in line with the OP's question. Rarely go to the board with any "cool story bro" personal anecdotes but this is the drinking thread, so... draw your own conclusions why I shared.

Going with Hacker-Pschorr to get me through extra innings in the Tigers game tonight.

I would post a photo of the glass, but this site currently has a standing disagreement with Instagram.

Alternating between Four Roses Small Batch and Woodford Reserve, while sitting on my deck on a beautiful night, waiting for my chicken to finish on the barbeque and reading MGoBlog, while my wife makes last minute preparations for our daughter's bridal shower tomorrow.  What a wonderful evening.

It's a ghost story involving some Greek Mythology. Bad people trying to raise dead spirits by summoning the goddess Hecate, and they mess things up a little bit. Pretty standard stuff, really. I'm sure it's terrible but it's also a bucket list item.

venison burgers and grilled peppers while drinking some very pleasant but non-descript red pop.  read to the kids for a while, they liked it.  these days will pass too soon...

Colorado dry cider and the awesome recollection of the MGoDaughter's graduation and the son's wedding last weekend in Boulder.

He will be a Badger this fall but suspect deep down he will remain a Michigan Man, except when they play us.

Michigan-Wisconsin games will take on an entirely new importance, and I can't wait.
