Sam Webb is 60/40 in favor of Michigan landing Harbaugh

Submitted by SAMgO on

Amidst all the Beaver/Webb power play madness over at scout, Sam had this to say:

"The only thing that's different from a few weeks ago is the feeling among some that he will be a tougher pull. But he is not impossible. Far from it. The source that corresponded with Harbaugh yesterday is at 50/50, but I'm a tad more optimistic than that in the aftermath of Lloyd's public advocacy. I'm at 60/40 Michigan gets him."

He is adamant that Jim is largely currently focused on making the playoffs with the niners (please no) and hasn't made up his mind yet. He also mentioned that a group of former M players went to SF a few weeks ago to feel him out, and he didn't close the door on the possibility.

When we finish completion of our search committee and start the search process of selecting a head hunter for filling a list of candidates. This process takes time. /s (as if needed)

Hey, can we make a post about when Sam Webb eats dinner and then proclaims the meal 60% #2, 40% #1?  I mean, this is getting ridiculous - he doesn't know any more than me what is going to happen, and all of this 50/50, 60/40 talk is just trying to drive eyeballs to his site.  Which good by him, but people who care can read it there, not copy-pasting it into another coaching post at MGoBlog.

So, I'm hearing things. Very very strong rumours that Harbaugh is coming to Michigan. There is talk that he will be paid 8 million per year and get a 10 year contract. This is being facilitated by ridiculously wealthy Michigan alums. He will be given carte Blanche control of the football team. Please please please let this be true. I would love to see him come home and save the program. The man has swagger and intensity. He's a proven commodity. He would make urban Meyer his bitch!! I hope it's all true. I hate the sec will my entire soul. I would love it if we paid Harbaugh 8 mil because fuck you, we're Michigan and we can. Tired of Alabama. Nick who? Never heard of her. If this happens Harbaugh to Michigan would be fucking epic. It will break the goddam internet. The college football world would blow up. Our recruiting would be ridiculous. Look what he did at Stanford. San Fran was a dumpster fire before he got there. He took them to the playoffs three years in a row and a superbowl. Everybody knows he's a winner. The kids are going to want to play for him because he is a mother fucking rock star! I've also heard the Michigan job had not been offered to any of these fucking shysters out there getting raises at their universities claiming otherwise. The search firm had only made soft contact with agents to this point. So all these assholes claiming they turned down Michigan are full of shit I swear I will fall down on the fucking ground and cry if\when they announce it. Then I will look to the heavens while sobbing and scream YEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS....MOTHERFUCKING YEEEEEEEEHEHEHEHEHEEEEEESSSSSS I will weep for days. And sometimes in the middle of it I'll laugh hysterically, maniacally and mumble: "it's over, the pain is over!" Hahahhahaha, "we've suffered for so long!", hahahahaha "but no more", he is coming!!! hahahahaha!! Fuck yeeeeeeees!!! But seriously. This would be THE biggest coaching hire in history. A coach coming out of the NFL in his prime. Returning home to his alma mater to restore it to it's former glory. Getting a 10 year contract worth 80 million dollars. He will ride into Ann Arbor on a giant fucking dragon, with no shirt on, covered in flame while playing a guitar and singing "Back in black"! I'm not fucking kidding when I say it would break the fucking internet. The sports world will go crazy. BACK IN BLAAAAAAACK, MOTHER FUUUUUUUUCKERSSSSS!!!!!

Some on this website can't seem to make up their mind if they truly hate or love Scout because for all the bickering about Sam and Tom, this board continues to showcase them with daily threads dedicated to them.

I'm sorry but when it comes to something like this I don't trust any percentages that Sam can throw out there. The truth is nobody knows and if I had to guess the odds are against Jimmy leaving the NFL...
