Russians Get Creative for World Cup Venue

Submitted by HelloHeisman91 on

In order to become compliant with World Cup venue standards, Central Stadium in Yekaterinburg, Russia added seats outside of the stadium and I must take my hat off to this crazy idea.

Originally I thought there was no view of the field and it was just dumb, but now that I see the other pics...

That is one wacky yet genius idea.

Btw this is OT.

Why do you have to be that guy? Yes, we all know it is off topic. If you need something to be labeled off topic to determine that it is off topic, then I cannot help you. I’ll bet you really don’t care that “OT” is missing in the title thread.

I didn't know that simply informing the OP to change their title to make it even more informative without going crazy or downvoting them because of it is frowned upon nowadays.

Obviously I really don't care and it's not a big deal, just trying to help others out. No snarkiness was intended.

Also, of course I don't need something to be labeled off-topic to know it is off topic, I just proved that to you by pointing out an OT thread was OT without it being labeled!

Just the hint of OCD in me talking and insisting on organization, that's all.

Moving on now...

In Soviet Russia, party always finds you.

Every country has a city they make fun of. For example, in America, you make fun of Cleveland. In Russia, we make fun of Cleveland.

Feel like we already had a thread about this...

But, really, this is genuinely a great idea. The seats are no worse than nosebleed seats anywhere else. And considering Qatar is building new stadiums with literal slave labor, killing people in the desert heat to build slapdash stadiums that will be used for exactly one event, Russia's solution is both creative and a welcomed variation from the norm of wasteful, one-off construction projects typically done for world events like this.

I watched Red Sparrow last night.  I am trying to think of a clever way to tie in this post with JLaw's Soviet-style bewbs.

Nope, can't say as I have thought of one.

Just, Russians, man.

During the space race, the Americans spent over a million dollars to come up with a pen that could write in zero gravity.

The Russians . . . just used a pencil.
