Good thing you provided a ling Brodie. Because Craven blew a fuse at the audacity of someone making a claim without a link to the thread. That claim was the initial Threet to transfer thread that he call "OUTRAGEOUS!!!!111!!!"

Totally legitimate, if it's on MLive, I suppose. But, I mean, would that really make sense? He'd be playing in 2010, after either Forcier or Robinson had been starting for a year, and, theoretically, Michigan would be bringing in at least one new highly-rated QB. . .

I don't get why he would transfer. He's a pro-style QB with a relatively fast 40 time. AND he will have to compete with 2-3 other quarterbacks in 2010. I don't see where he benefits from this.

Brantley is a "legacy" whose dad and uncle played for UF. Also, main competitor for next year, Cameron Newton, just got kicked out of the program. The Brantleys have pretty much made a great living off of their Gatorness, and have really made it the greater part of their identities. If he stays at UF, he will never have a problem making a living in FL, especially in the sports radio/TV fields. I do wonder if he got a little spooked by Meyer's promise to D Robinson that he could play QB if he committed, though. If I were advising Brantley, I would tell him to stay this year, and figure out next year if he has a legit chance of starting when Tebow leaves. It should be obvious to all by then. I am guessing that a transfer to a school like Valdosta State, where he would be immediately eligible, would work better for him by then. He did, however, originally commit to Texas out of high school before rescinding it and deciding on UF. Maybe he bowed to family pressure and is second-guessing his decision. I agree with Mongoose and MG20, though, that there really isn't much of an upside for UM or Brantley here.
