...but I would never fault a 17 year-old for wanting to play for his dad.
No, but I would fault the father for making his son go to Central.
Good news everywhere today!
Yea I need to stop posting so quick when I see/hear not so good news. Second time today.
Because it always can... So I won't.
Maybe it's just sour grapes... but Central?? Ouch.
hadn't you heard? he was only thinking of going to CMU to get his dad a contract. now that that's out of the way, he's going to UM!
That's not even what the other thread was implying. But way to go and take something completely out of context to try and make yourself look witty when really you're just being a jerk.
Several people in that thread and the other Ziegler threads floated that very idea.
Don't forget to mention the [obvious?] sarcasm!
ZEIGLER TO MICHIGAN!!!!!
If only I had a twitter account, then it could be official.
No chance of a Raback here is there?
I hear he's going to FSU...
Ferris State is cool, Dorsey and Ziegler can hang out.
they can hang out w/ me.
Are they going to alternate traveling to Big Rapids and Mount Pleasant?
for wanting to play for his dad....
I mean, I feel like this has been a foregone conclusion. Kid seems to want to play for his dad, and who can fault him for that.
Honestly though, with the reliance of Bielien's offense on shooting, is Zeigler the best option for the team. Sure, it would be great to add him into the fold, but it might work in our favor to save the scholarship and utilize it in the 2011 class for someone better suited for JB's offense.
There is a reason he is rated the #26 player in the country by Rivals. You always to want to get a player that good.
If he's not coming to Michigan, then I'll gladly cheer for him at CMU. I'm just glad it appears he's not going to MSU.
Is he not regarded as a good shooter? I don't follow basketball recruiting nearly as much as I do football.
he's more of a athletic/slasher type a la Manny Harris. The thing is, a kid can improve his shooting much more easily than he can improve his athleticism.
The exact proficiency of Ziegler's shooting ability is irrelevant. We are missing out on one of the best players in the country and an in state talent to boot.
Similar to the kid from Tennessee who is going to Florida, who we finished 2nd on, it hurts. Belien needs to keep plugging away, we did nab Metrics and Hardaway, Ziegler would have been the cherry on the cake.
I suppose I worded that poorly. Don't get me wrong, adding Trey would be huge. I guess what I was trying to say, is it won't be the end of the world if we miss out. I hope we get him. I'm preparing to not though and looking to the future.
On the one hand, I'm glad he is going to my school, if the rumors are true. It will be nice to have a decent team again.
At the same time, I'd rather he come to Michigan and help out.
I'm in the same boat. I want him to go to Michigan, but at the same time I can watch him play every home game if he comes to CMU. Maybe more than 500 people would start going to CMU games again.
we finally get a top instate guy who is not in love with Sparty, Sparty has no room for, likes our program and his girlfriend goes to our school. And guess what, his dad is a D1 coach at another school.
Did UM deny some crazy Greek man's goat entry to a game or something?
Is this feeling of yours in the gut or the junk. This is a very important detail.
I posted this on the other Zeigler thread, but Rivals confirms.

Best of luck to the kid if he goes to CMU - I don't blame him for wanting to play for his Dad. It sucks, but we'll move on.

Then he shall be a Central Michigan Man.
