Rose Bowl showing at Michigan Theater

I just saw this on MLive- for any folks in the Ann Arbor area who want to watch the Rose Bowl somewhere other than at home, it looks like the Michigan Theater in downtown Ann Arbor is offering a free showing of the Rose Bowl. Seating is limited, though, so you'll need to reserve tickets in advance. Again, free tickets, you just need to go to the Michigan Theater website to reserve.

I'm not sure I'll go for it, I'm planning on going over to a friend's place, but! If anyone around here is interested, I bet that would be a really neat way to watch the game. The article days the snack bar at the theater will be selling beer and food.

That's awesome.  When I was a student, I watched the 1993 Final Four and Final at Crisler.  So much fun to watch a big M sporting event on a giant screen with thousands of other M fans.  Almost makes it seem like you're there live.  One (I guess two) of my favorite college memories.

My brother is looking through my Dad’s old shoebox and came across these. 1981 Rose Bowl, Bo’s first Rose Bowl victory IIRC, 23-6 over Washington. Butch Woolfolk went off for 182 yards. Tickets were $20 ($1.50 less than what tickets to the theatre cost now) and came with “free automobile parking.”

I went to that game. I remember Michigan had a dominant rushing attack, so I just assumed it was the Wheatley Rose Bowl. But I was wrong, before Wheatley there was Woolfolk.
