DPJ is GONZO.

He has had some injuries and UM is using him for punt returns--and he doesn't get many catches anyway.

He'd be very smart to leave now. If UM is in another Outback or Gator Bowl, I'm thinking Nico and DPJ are going to have mysterious hamstring injuries that week. I do not blame them one bit.

Next year would be a great year for them IF UM wouldn't be breaking in another starting QB.

He would be in the rotation on the basketball team. He’d probably get 15 minutes a night. He chose the right sport, because he’ll end up in the NFL. But he could have been an above average basketball player at U of M.

For everyone wondering about how he’ll do at the combine, he’s a great athlete. He’ll definitely be a mid-round pick if he keeps progressing.

He only had 2 offers to play basketball. Both are unknown schools. Both have never made it to March Madness.

There's 1000's of great athletes that are not in the pros.

Bell is a prime example of how recruiting coverage skews peoples' expectations.  20 years ago most people wouldn't have known much about his recruiting status and would just call him a great player.

Now, it's all "Yeah he had a good game but should we throw him the ball so much?  My $9.95 monthly subscription recruiting service tells me he was ranked ____ in the country so he must actually suck."

Earlier this year, I made an offhand comment saying that I could see Bell becoming a pro player after his time at Michigan.  Someone here flipped out at that and offered to bet me $1000 on it, because of course there was no way a guy with his recruiting ranking could be a pro...

Funny to see him hooping and then in the background there's a giant banner hanging in the gym with his face on it for KC High School Football Player of the Year... foreshadowing
