rivals' bowls?

Submitted by sheepman on

would it be better for OSU or MSU or ND to play someone really good and chance losing (Arkansas for OSU)? Or would it be better for them to play someone they will dominate in a really boring victory bringing no glory whatsoever?

While I like UConn, I kind of hope OSU plays UConn and has the most disappointing bowl win in their history.

Some people only want the board to contain basically....nothing. Maybe a WOOOOO thread after we win a game. And a thread discussing the game if there's not a Liveblog filled with statements of genius. No projection into the future at all. But a LOT of charts on the past.

Thanks. Just got some strange reactions for a post -

 1. about college football
 2. about bowl season (which is basically tomorrow)
 3. about our rivals

Wasn't sure how that was irrelevant. Or deserving of snark at all.

It'd probably be what we were talking about. That's how I see the board.

Probably talking about all the BCS bowls, but you kept it relevant by keeping it B10/Michigan opponent related.

There just seems to be a rush to be the first guy to bomb a new thread. They should all be plussing you for finding a topic that doesn't strictly involve Rich and Harbaugh.

you're really on my ass lately.

i have no need to be 'first.' the OP brought up an open-ended question which was "do we hope OSU plays a good team or bad team?" i really didn't get the thought pattern or interest in the slight of such a question, to the point it came off as 'posting for the sake of posting.' obviously some people agree with me. i've had about 9 different thoughts about CFB today that i found a way not to post. implying that anything should be posted as long as it's not RR or JH, though, is a bit of a misnomer. board posts outside of news/quick bites really should be longer than 3 sentences IMO.

tl;dr : you're a hater so i must be doing well. /kattwilliams'd

There are a number of people in this and other threads practically opening up the new ones one by one to just post snark. You may have had a dozen college football thoughts you felt were irrelevant, so you didn't post them (I don't know...since you didn't post them), but what you have posted is why it may seem "I'm on your ass"...because it's mainly contributed of just this...snark remarks on how much every thread sucks, Michigan fans suck, suck suck suck. THAT you feel is more valuable than 3 sentence threads? One word posts? It goes to you, or someone posting explosions, head slaps, or violations. (Which I thought the main objection was too much CC talk...now it's all talk).

Frankly, I know you have more to contribute than that. Instead of complaining about all the content, why don't you add some great content, and the rest will fade into the ether. Or join in more on the threads you do like. Or don't. But don't feel persecuted when you're out jumping on everyone for their content.

According to ESPN -

"Dave Teggart had four field goals, including a career-long 52-yarder with 17 seconds to play, as Connecticut clinched the Big East's automatic Bowl Championship Series berth Saturday night with a 19-16 win over South Florida."

The Big 10 has been dragged through the mud over the last few years about its performance in bowl games (mostly because OSU choked in 2 straight NC games).

It is time to make amends.

MSU will get worked in their bowl game.

Alabama? Rolled.

Arkansas? Mallettsex'd.

LSU? Tigerbait.

SC? Gamecock'd.

I honestly see them losing by 12+ in any matchup they're in. I also see Dantonio trying to pull a cute fake field goal based off of the movie the Sandlot and having his kicker unraveled like a baseball.

but when it comes to bowl games, I'm all for any Big Ten victory. Yeah, I'll root for OSU and MSU during their bowl games, Big Ten is Big Ten. However, when it comes to ND, I just hope they get blown out.

I don't know, because of those SEC yokles chanting "SEC!, SEC!" after every damn win, ESPN and the media rode this conference strength bandwagon hardcore. Now, I have to root for Michigan and Penn State in bowl games because freaking Georgia fans, who haven't been relevant since the Herschel Walker days, act like they are better than us because they play in the SEC. "'Bama won the Natl. Title, they only beat us by 45 so the SEC is da best! O$U couldn't beat Vanderbilt if they played in the SEC! You're slow!" It sucks, but if it shuts up those morons, I'm "all in for Michigan".

I hope state get blanked. If they play LSU or Bama i think its possible. I hate state and i ecspecially hate them this year becuase there the worst 1 loss team by a country mile.

Nothing I would enjoy more than UM winning against an SEC team and MSU and OSU getting blown out... I will never root for MSU or OSU unless they're playing ND

Go Blue!
