Risk Day 28 - I'm Liking All This Maize. It's A Good Look For The Country.
RNG was mighty kind to us last night. Based on probabilities, we were expected to win 18.7 territories. Instead, we won 24 territories. We now have a presence in 15 different states and control almost everything west of Colorado. We also have a chunk of Texas, we took the Mid-Atlantic back, and we've gotten deep into OSU's stronghold in the Northeast. It's a rather beautiful map if I do say so myself.
That said, RNG luck is only part of the story. The other, bigger factor is YOU. Thanks to your consistent play, we were able to send 100+ power to 15 different territories, as well as smaller forces to 17 territories (and we managed to win NINE of those 17). If y'all didn't go to MichiganCFBRisk.com every day, the numbers simply wouldn't be there. Lots of teams get lucky throughout the game (it's the nature of probabilities), but only a couple of teams -- including Michigan -- have the firepower to turn that luck into #WINNING.
So PLEASE, keep playing every day! While we had a lot of good fortune last night, the Buckeyes won Stanford and Univ of California, and are now in position to test our dominance in California. If we let up, the West will get painted a disgusting shade of Gray very quickly. In the names of Bo and Yost, we CANNOT let that happen!Keep playing every day and GO BLUE!

That star power, tho. Gotta love it. This sneech can't wait until he gets 3 stars on his belly.
That looks like George Clooney in The Descendants if I'm not mistaken. Fantastic movie. One of my favorites.
Just l
Just like the players, even Katz is running out of material. I expect a better effort tomorrow on your anti-cfbrisk postings!

I bumped up to 4 stars today. One more star and I'm re-opening my recruitment back up.

Can someone inform this dumbass newb how mercenaries work?
April 19th, 2020 at 11:57 AM ^
A mercenary is a player whose team was eliminated that chooses to play for a team other than Chaos. After your team is eliminated, you have the choice each day to play for either Chaos or the team that occupies the home territory of your team. For example, if your team was Sparty, you would have the choice today to play for Chaos or Wisconsin (the team that occupies Sparty's home in EL). An example of a Michigan mercenary today would be someone who was playing for USC or UCLA. Michigan occupies those territories. That player would have the choice today to play for Chaos or Michigan (classified as a mercenary for Michigan) since Michigan occupies the USC and UCLA territories.

A complete, straight-forward answer with no snark. You are on the wrong board my friend. Thank you

Noob question - when is the ideal time to check MichiganCFBRisk.com for our assignment? I've been playing now for about 8 days and have been checking first thing in the morning. Do the assignments change throughout the day until executed? Oh, and that map is definitely trending towards "Champions of the West" status.
April 19th, 2020 at 12:03 PM ^
It doesn't matter when you check your assignment. It gets generated based upon the day's battle plan, and while that plan might get adjusted as the day goes along, it's adjusted based upon how many people have shown up already to get their orders. So, either you're taking part in a revised plan or you're providing the baseline strength that the planners need to know what revisions are possible. Both are valuable.
My assignments are still blacklisted so I'm shooting in the dark here

1 more star and you’re going have Michigan as your second choice of orders to follow!
April 19th, 2020 at 11:59 AM ^
3 more days until I get my 3rd star and I will be getting my 4th star just in time for the big finish (last 4 days!!)
Something to keep the competitive spirits up.
As a side note, my 2 sons and I have divided up the NFL teams (10 each with 2 community teams) and will be conducting our own NFL Draft starting tomorrow. Then we will compare our picks to the actual and see who came the closest.
Gotta do something with all this stay at home time....

was a day or so from 4 star... got busy yesterday and forgot. Had that moment of panic, checked my watch... 11 minutes late. Now back to 1. very frustrating.
1 day in a row and counting.

Grace Slick warned against chasing rabbits. Let this be a lesson to us all!
I forgot on Easter. The stars come back faster than I thought--back up to 3 already.

Gotta run OSU out of California and Alaska.

NTTAWWT
I'm surprised GT hasn't nearly eliminated or taken Alabama out completely. They have double the players. Maybe Chaos is giving GT all it can handle?
We're in position to attack all 3 military schools. Sounds easy.
I will get my 4th star in 9 turns.
Orders executed.
Chaos is playing a big factor in the game this year. They have so many territories!
Are you only allowed to attack neighboring states?
Yes, like in real Risk.
when I signed in today it gave me the same assignment as yesterday, and I didn't have to click the "get assignment" button it just displayed my option from yesterday. (It isn't an option today as yesterday I was attack and today I would have to defend that School.
