Redzone Offense Snowflake Thread
No point in trying to solicit your thoughts in the game thread. And didn't create to share my opinion.
While I realize this is likely going to be filled with snark, I'm genuinely interested, what do you all think is wrong with the redzone offense that results in FGs over TDs?
Is there something glaring that you see (other than the fact that our offense goes to shit)? Any ideas on how to fix it? What would you do differently (other than score TDs)?

McNamara=statue
A mobile QB makes all the difference.
Or run a power formation with a fullback instead of a zone read with no frickin read!!!!

Really? What's Cade's vs JJ's red zone performance tonight?

We need a hammering panda.

Michigan's 1980's offense is not going to succeed with the current talent level in college football today.

My 1980s offense hasn't been working on the wife very well lately either.

The official policy of the blog is there is no such thing as red zone offense, even though that's silly, of course.

Red zone offense? Yes, let’s have one.

Cade favors the safer throws and the check downs. The first half of the season, he seemed way more concerned with preventing INTs. He also doesn't have the best vision downfield, and seems to not see open receivers 15+ yards downfield. Or he does see them, but prefers the 5 yard out route instead. He's gotten better through the season, but his vision and decision making remains questionable. This is accentuated when the defense is clogging routes when the field is shorter in red zone situations, forcing us to lean on the run. We become predictable and can't convert, so we settle for points. That's my theory.

Michigan's is not very good. If it was just pretty good tonight this game would've ended 43-7. We really need to fix it, and quick.

Predictability. We get in the red zone and run between the tackles. Every defense knows how to prepare for it.

Perhaps Jim needs this...

Our ineptness in the red zone will cost us dearly vs Penn State. They largely held the Buckeyes to FGs when they were in the red zone. And Ohio State has a more potent offense than Michigan. Our second of 4 losses this year. Same ole, same ole.

It seems like it is any good only when Haskins carries five dudes over the goal line or it involves the tight ends.
