RB recruiting

Unless you are living under a rock, Michigan RBs are killing it. With Mike hart back, are there any awesome RBs M recruiting in the mold of Corum? I mean jeez, guy's lateral quickness is next level. Curious if M is on some RBs like that (don't see any recruiting updates recently)

We have CJ Stokes currently committed to Michigan, but it looks like most of the other top ranked RB's in the 2022 class are committed elsewhere.  Kids are always opening their recruitment back up. If the season continues with the same level of production, I wouldn't be surprised to see Michigan kick the tires on a few targets later in the season.

I love our RBs! Corum Haskins and Edwards are all capable backs to rely on. The only issue i have is wisconsin michigan state penn state and ohio state are gonna try their best to take away the run game. If they do is mcnamara and our WR capable of moving the ball downfield consistently? I dont know yet. The rutgers game should build more confidence if we win comfortably.

Does this mean you guys want to give any credit to Jay Harbaugh who recruited these guys and is the one primarily responsible for Haskins development and the first year of Corum, or are some of you still mad because his last name is Harbaugh.

What are you talking about? These guys didn't learn how to tie their shoes until Hart showed up. I'm surprised they figured out how to put their helmets on before Mike took the job. Listen, I love Mike Hart more than most, but has any fan base talked more about a position coach more than ours?

Lest we forget, Jay Harbaugh was the TE coach for the first couple years here, and our TEs were fantastic during his time.

2015: Butt, Williams, Khalid Hill, Wheatley Jr., Poggi. And Chase Winovich!!

2016: Butt, Bunting, McKeon, Gentry, Eubanks, Asiasi, and a couple more.

There's recruiting there. There's development there. There are a few redemption stories there, Williams in particular.

Jay Harbaugh can coach.

This,  I guess we have our answer why A legit NFL prospect transferred in and then out before even a training camp.  Also the Carpenter transfer doesn’t seem to have hurt too badly probably feel that one next year depending on if Zinter takes to center or the young guys progress.  Either way Coach Moore keeps impressing.
I wonder if he or Hart take over if Gattis moves on at some point.

I was thinking about this topic recently, figured if your a top RB recruit hard to look at how Michigan is built and not be interested.  But then I looked at the 247 recruiting site briefly and looks like a lot of the top guys are already committed elsewhere, and doesn’t seem like a bunch of interest from 4 stars and up at this point.  I wonder if this changes.

2018 - Haskins came in battling the higher rated Turner, survived a position switch to LB and back, then went to work beating out the competition.

2019 - Zach Charbonnet (who started getting Heisman love at UCLA before they lost to Fresno)

2020 - Blake Corum (who should start getting Heisman love, and will pass Haskins on the depth chart this year.)

2021 - Donovan Edwards; future beast.

2022 - Went down to SEC country and stole an SEC legacy. Possibly underrated (another Haskins??)

2023 - ??? (we have 12 offers out, 5 of which to top 100 recruits)

Only time will tell how much the recruiting will shift under Mike Hart. Jay absolutely rocked at bringing in studs at the position though.

Jay has done well at coaching his positions, and great at recruiting. But his in game substitutions at rb seemed baffling at times. Maybe the play they called at specific times required a certain back! But it seemed like one of our backs would start to work up a lather and  then get pulled  and you wouldnt see them again for a whole quarter or better.
