Seems even covid hates the bowl system. Bowl season just isnt the same anymore....sigh
December 27th, 2021 at 11:02 AM ^
Might be worth watching just to see Nevada's starting QB at 6'9". The reviews say he is a running quarterback. Their regular QB is out with Covid.
December 27th, 2021 at 12:34 PM ^
Their regular QB is pulling a Higdon.
December 27th, 2021 at 11:05 AM ^
Talk about a shitty ass bowl game to get invited to.
11am the Monday after Christmas weekend?
December 27th, 2021 at 11:08 AM ^
Nationally televised game on the premier network where they are the only CFB teams playing (not just at the time, but now the entire day)... good way to send those kids out.
December 27th, 2021 at 11:15 AM ^
...On a Monday morning after Christmas.
Listen, I get it... Yeah, for most schools, being the ESPN marquis matchup of the day sounds awesome. But at 11am on a Monday after Christmas weekend....
It's fricken 8:15am where I am right now. ON A MONDAY!
December 27th, 2021 at 11:17 AM ^
A lot of WMU fans in the stands. They don't seem to mind.
December 27th, 2021 at 11:23 AM ^
And I bet they are having a blast!!
December 27th, 2021 at 11:56 AM ^
Whats this about former cubs pitcher Jason Marquis and his matchup today?
December 27th, 2021 at 12:08 PM ^
I've been to two recent Motor City Bowls in '18 and '19 at Ford Field, but both were at night early in the week. ESPN has to show MNF later.
Anyway, I love catching random teams at a familiar venue. If I didn't have a one year old to watch, I might go down there for a matinee game and hit up one of the bars afterwards for early dinner. Hope all the KZoo folks are enjoying themselves.

Nevada drives the field (a lot of run yards but also penalty-assisted). Stopped in the red zone and held to FG.
December 27th, 2021 at 11:19 AM ^
And WMU houses the kick return for 100 yards.
December 27th, 2021 at 11:28 AM ^
WMU holds Nevada on their next possession (two consecutive incompletions on 2nd & 1). Beautiful punt sticks inside the 5.
December 27th, 2021 at 11:33 AM ^
WMU with 74yd td pass on 3rd & 10.
14-3 WMU
December 27th, 2021 at 11:36 AM ^
The BigPlayBroncos!
14-3 after a long TD pass.
December 27th, 2021 at 11:47 AM ^
My '98 was '87 on a record, yo. So now I go Bronco!
December 27th, 2021 at 1:16 PM ^
Welcome to the Terrordome
December 27th, 2021 at 11:39 AM ^
Long live the Motor City Bowl. For me personally second most attended bowl behind the Rose Bowl
December 27th, 2021 at 11:41 AM ^
WMU holds Nevada to 3 & out on a massive 3rd down sack.
Fun fact: the Nevada QB (backup since normal QB opted out) is 6' 9" and is the tallest person to play FBS QB.
December 27th, 2021 at 11:47 AM ^
Good start for Western. Let’s go Broncos!
December 27th, 2021 at 11:51 AM ^
WMU comes up just short on 3rd down in red zone and takes the FG.
17-3 WMU
December 27th, 2021 at 12:04 PM ^
Nevada drives for TD (drive kept alive by penalties).
17-10 WMU
December 27th, 2021 at 12:10 PM ^
Helmet to Helmet full speed. No review. LOL.
December 27th, 2021 at 12:13 PM ^
Lmao — all of the time during the season we spend reviewing and arguing the weakest possible targeting definitions, and they don’t bat an eye at an extremely obvious targeting-definition, missile-launch-into-helmet hit. Bowl season.
December 27th, 2021 at 12:11 PM ^
I couldn’t believe the spread yesterday and was about to throw everything on Nevada. Until I heard about their issues.
December 27th, 2021 at 12:13 PM ^
Sucks that CMU won’t be televised and will air during the playoffs
December 27th, 2021 at 12:14 PM ^
WMU answers with 60+ yard drive for TD.
Nevada avoids a targeting call along the way (wasn't even reviewed).
24-10 WMU
December 27th, 2021 at 12:35 PM ^
Because he led with his shoulder maybe?
December 27th, 2021 at 12:30 PM ^
Hey! Western looking pretty good. (Nevada COVID issues aside)
When I was there we had a shitty Harbaugh as a coach.
December 27th, 2021 at 12:36 PM ^
Western stops Nevada then punches in for TD.
31-10 WMU
December 27th, 2021 at 1:59 PM ^
Might be a preview of next year's Michigan broadcast team on 1270 in Detroit (Audacy.com app or stream). Doug Karsch PBP with Jon Jansen on color. Karsch is a much better PBP guy than I would have expected.
December 27th, 2021 at 2:05 PM ^
Nice to see the MAC on their way to another W. It's been a little rough this year so far -- 1-4 up to today, I believe.
December 27th, 2021 at 6:32 PM ^
WMU has some good wins this year: ACC Champ Pittsburg, MAC Champ Northern Illinois, now Nevada. Kind of surprising they didn't get more wins. If they had beat the teams they should have they might be ranked in the top 25.
December 27th, 2021 at 2:08 PM ^
I thought at the time that the nature of the WMU win boded well for this team, and it obviously bore out. WMU is a pretty good team.
December 27th, 2021 at 2:17 PM ^
My alma mater beating the shit out of the Wolfpack. This is good. Bang me.
December 27th, 2021 at 2:24 PM ^
8am kickoff on a Monday.??? Go Broncos!
I always pull for WMU in the MAC
