Pryor Belongs In Columbus

Submitted by RodneyGoBlue on
The following is an exert from an Ohio Newspaper: /Following the victory at Illinois, Pryor went over to slap hands with some Ohio State fans before pointing and laughing at the Illinois student section. The students responded by throwing objects at him. "I love taunting," he said. "I like to have fun. I like to be taunted, I like taunting."/ Sounds like he ended up right where he belongs. I really hope Graham lights his ass up a few times. This kid needs his bell rung. Nice job Illinois Student Section.

True and fair, but I don't remember Hart talking trash through the media as a Freshman, in fact the only time I remember that he talked trash through the media was his retaliation to Ringer's trash talk with the Little Brother comment. Pryor has already been talking trash more than once through the media. Either way, I really don't care much or think it makes him less of a person to be honest.

No need to make assumptions and put words in my mouth. Pryor is not less of a person for talking trash. I wish Pryor would have signed with UofM, I think we'd have more wins right now. I do think there is a difference between a person talking trash through the media once his entire career as a senior and a freshman who isn't even through his first year and he has done it a few times. It is second nature to this kid apparently. That said, I won't cry, he isn't a bad person for it and I hope we get a QB with his talents soon.

Anyone who is surprised that Terrelle Pryor is overly cocky isn't paying attention. I'm not one of the people who is happy he didn't pick us, because I think he'll be great, but he has major ego issues. He held a press conference to announce that he wasn't announcing. Some good players let their play talk for them and some good players talk extra just so everyone knows how good they are. TP is the latter.

. . .RichRod called to tell him he was taking over at UM - and Pryor did not keep it confidential - calling the recruiting services and snitching before RR had even told his team. from

Did that actually happen or was it just a rumor (like how he also shredded every single sheet of paper on the West Virginia campus)? If it's legit, then that's bullshit on Rodriguez's part.

Pryor said that Rodriguez texted him before Rodriguez was announced. I have no idea how that coincides with when his team found out. But, if this guy wants to blame Pryor for spilling the beans before RR told his team (note: I don't know if this is true), then it stands to reason that MAYBE, RR shouldn't have told Pryor before he told his team. No? The only reason I'm having this argument is because people act like Pryor is the worst kid on the face of the earth while ignoring the fact that our players have displayed the same behavior they're complaining about.

Imagine the surprise of this writer as my cell phone rings ten minutes ago and it is the top player on the East Coast Terrelle Pryor telling me that he may have just unlocked the biggest coaching story of the year. "Add Michigan to my list," Pryor said. Michigan, the Wolverines? Of course I had to ask is Rich Rodriguez going there because its the only thing that would draw Pryor to Ann Arbor right now. "I just spoke to Coach Rodriguez about ten minutes ago and he told me he is going to Michigan," Pryor explained. "He said they made him an offer an he can't refuse it." So if Pryor is correct the Wolverines have found their man and the Mountaineers have lost the native son who this time last year flirted with Alabama only to stay at home. Pryor is coming off of a state championship as he helped lead the Jeannette Jayhawks to a 49-21 win over Dumore in the PIAA Class AA Finals.

So, this article says nothing about this occurring before Rodriguez informed his team. YOU added that, fabricated from whole cloth. EVEN if that's true, you seem to want to blame Pryor for spilling to the media before Rodriguez told his team than you would blame Rodriguez for telling Pryor before he told his team? Double standards, anyone?

Chitown, that call to Pryor was one of the "smoking guns" WVU used against RR in their settlement - WVU pulled the cellphone records for that call to Pryor and showed it was initiated prior to his team meeting and the announcement and they accused RR of recruiting for UM with WVU-issued phone. I did not make this up - that became public knowledge in court. I'm 100% behind RR - glad he was recruiting for us right away - I just think it was pretty dickly of Pryor to take a call like that in confidence from RR and then not 10 minutes later he's calling the recruiting guys at Rivals to snitch the secret - drawing attention to himself and throwing RR under the bus. Hope Taylor and Martin get in his face good on Saturday and give him the same treatment we gave Tebow in Orlando. Go Blue!

I just find it funny that you want to blame Pryor for telling the media before Rodriguez could tell his team, rather than blaming Rodriguez for calling Pryor before telling his team. Pryor had no obligation to Rodriguez, or the WVU team. Rodriguez did have an obligation to the WVU team. I, obviously, am a huge RR fan, but you're trying to turn something that is baldly RR's fault into Pryor's.

I've had the luxury of living in western Pennsylvania during most of Pryor's high school years and even after that being pretty up to date on Pittsburgh area happenings now that we don't live there anymore (my wife is from there and we get FSN-Pittsburgh to watch the hockey games. I've said it all along (admittedly not here because I didn't know about this board at the time) that I didn't want Pryor to go to Michigan; it's not the right fit. As good as he is, he doesn't have the character to be at Michigan. Not only am I speaking to his attitude and his previous run ins with trouble (that he never had to face any consequences for), but also to the manner in which his decision to go to TUOS was made. His attitude actually reminds me a lot of a certain high profile Michigan recruit from 2001. This kid may have all the talent in the world, but there is something just not right that screams (to me at least) good riddance, enjoy TUSO; they both deserve each other. Michigan needs players right now that are team first and have the desire to build something special; not just be the cherry on top.
