The previous time Michigan left the conference
I agree with the sentiments in Punt - Counter Punt, this is off the rails and driven with emotion. From reading books on Michigan I knew that Yost was the coach when Michigan left the conference, but did not know specific details. I'll just link the good work done by MVictors here,
Why Michigan Left the Big Ten Conference
Team, go get win 999

The AD and regents should at the very least explore alternatives to this conference.
We were absolutely, 100%, railroaded by the Big Ten, who should have had our back.
The blame for being thrown under the bus lies with Petitti and the other members of the league.
Unacceptable.

Is the Non-Intercourse Rule still on the books? Still want to play Minny after we leave.

With half the old Pac-8 arriving next season, it won't feel like a conference any more. More like a high school party in the Arb. You see a lot of familiar faces and some cool new ones. That's great once or twice but it's all rather overwhelming and you'd rather just hang out with your friends.
It's time to separate football from the NCAA and even from the conferences. I doubt Michigan throws the first punch here, but it would be fitting under the circumstances. And that's the only way anyone will remember Petitti aside from family and friends.
