That's a lot of people who watched OSU get their ass kicked!

Mom's into it.

This is Glorious!

That's a lot of people who watched a dominating effort!!! I can only imagine many of the national viewers were cheering on the Maize and Blue. I know I received text messages from friends across the country who were just as excited as me without allegiance to Michigan. This win, HUGE for national perspective!!!

I think everybody's quite tired of OSU, Clemson, and Alabama. We're close to the dream of none of them in the playoff, but I have a feeling even if Alabama loses to Georgia they'll be gifted a spot.
November 28th, 2021 at 8:07 PM ^
I don’t think they are in if they lose. They haven’t looked great, are no longer ranked #2 and there are other good options who have conference titles and less loses.
If they lose and there is chalk… UGA, UM, Cincy, OkSU and ND all have a chance.
It would be great to have new blood in the tourney and I think everyone feels that way.

I'd be delighted to see Michigan matched up with Cincy in the first round. Hellooooooo college football final!
(knocks on wood)

I'm sure Georgia and whoever else gets in would be licking their chops to face Cincinnati too. They're good, but they're not THAT good.
November 28th, 2021 at 8:55 PM ^
I agree: if Alabama loses to Georgia, then Alabama is out of the playoffs. Even if it's a close loss, they're out.
If, however, Alabama beats Georgia, and it's a close game, then I expect both Georgia and Alabama will go to the playoffs. Assuming Michigan beats Iowa, that makes three. The fourth spot is anyone's guess at this point.

I live in DC. My son's basketball season started Saturday with a tournament - tipoff at 3:15. I am the coach. Fuck. I rationalized that if The Game was a blowout, the basketball game would be a good distraction and a reminder of what's important in life. If The Game was close, then it would be the only thing that mattered. I was decked out in my M gear and so many people were commenting about the game to me. Everyone was hyped about Michigan and I heard a ton of Go Blue! They also seemed pretty happy about OSU losing, and the snow. I had the game on my phone and I thought I did a good job not looking at it much, but my son says I was watching it the entire time (that's a lie).

I'm in Northern VA, and I have a Michigan mask and a bright yellow hat...the last 36 hours fans of everyone were congratulating me!
November 28th, 2021 at 8:31 PM ^
I have a Michigan mask as well, but I work with a lot of Sparties and some are truly antagonized by it! It's overwarm anyways, and now that we're double masking it's more comfortable to go with a generic hospital one.

am i the only one that was expecting a frog in the picture?
nice pic, way to go dad, would be tough to coach with that in the back of your mind.

we got our asses kicked actually. I'm sure I looked pretty stupid jumping up and giving my son a huge hug in the middle of the game for no reason (he was on the bench at least)
November 29th, 2021 at 4:53 AM ^
bummer. well, at least you didn't get T'ed up for over-exuberant celebration, spontaneously combusting when you found out we won and scaring the crud out of everyone in attendance by going ballistic.

Can someone say what those individual market numbers translate to? Percent of television viewers, number of viewers?
November 28th, 2021 at 7:35 PM ^
I believe the first number is the percentage of television households watching, and the second is the percentage of TVs on that are tuned in to the game.
So in the Detroit market, 32.6% of households were watching, and of all those with their TV on, 67% were watching our game.

Thank you!

DAMN!
November 28th, 2021 at 7:33 PM ^
That’s awesome. To add to Ourand’s information, M-MSU had 9.289 million viewers (previous highest rating of the year) and Clemson-UGA had 8.86 million.
Also for comparison, in the 2019 season LSU-Alabama (1 vs 2) had around 16 million viewers and The Game was second with around 12.4 million

Punching a bully in the mouth…awesome!
Punching a bully in the mouth and then ground & pounding their ass into submission in front of 15 million viewers…priceless!
November 28th, 2021 at 7:44 PM ^
I hope a couple million of them were 5 star recruits.

I like the way you do math
November 28th, 2021 at 7:45 PM ^
Just going by all the posts in the Mich/OSU game thread on RCMB I would have thought Lansing would be on that list.
November 28th, 2021 at 8:05 PM ^
And I believe it was easily the most bet on game of the season, second so far was the MSU game. The Michigan difference!

So the players receiving NIL money really had a negative impact on college sports interest, didn't it?
November 28th, 2021 at 8:20 PM ^
What’ll drain the sport down is if they don’t expand the CFP. You can’t have most of the same teams in the thing every single year. This is the year, if Georgia, Michigan and OK St hold serve that you can actually have some different teams in there. That is what drives up ratings. I don’t want to see Bama, Clemson, Ohio St, LSU, OK or Georgia in the stupid thing year after year.
November 29th, 2021 at 9:05 AM ^
Yes, they have to expand it to 8 at minimum.
November 28th, 2021 at 8:33 PM ^
Yes, as you can see poor Dabo Swinney is on his way to retirement
