Predict the Score - Be the Envy of the MgoWorld

Mates,
If you're like me you have finished one of the least productive work weeks of your life today.  The still-sweet joy of last Saturday remains.  The excitement of another game that, if won, leads to the CFP is right on our doorstep.  And while Iowa is no 'trash team', if you look at the metrics, strength of schedule, our momentum and what happened last week, well, let's just say 'Look out Iowa'.  Maybe your thoughts on this game are somewhere between a nearly vanquished BPONE epidemic and the kind of overconfidence that those ohio fans had (sad red faces go here), but its hard to stop your heart beating fast with excitement about tomorrow.

I think the team will not only shrug off the 'let down' possibility, but also have such a dynamite energy and enthusiasm that tomorrow's game should go well for us, very well.   I think this is happening tomorrow, minus the snow:

All that to say, time to guess the score.  I'd even ask the 'Win will cause me/Loss will cause me' question but I don't want to step on anyone's posting toes.

So here it is: Guess the score to tomorrow's game.

And yeah, Go Blue!!

Oh man today is only hump day for me.

I did manage to get out of coming in early tomorrow night so I'll get to watch the first half.

Domination. Total expectation subversion against a great defense. I think they fall apart. Offenses like Purdue and Wisconsin hung 20+ on them, and we're better than they are. Let's get it.

Michigan 45

Iowa 10

38-17.

Haskins 135 yrds & 2 touchdowns

McNamara 185 yards 1 touchdown

Schoonmaker 1 touchdown

Henning returns a kickoff for TD.

2 1/2 sacks Hutchinson 1 1/2 sacks Ojabo. (They get at least 12 QB hurries)

Scoop and score Hutchinson, which solidifies his Heisman!!!

Go Blue!

31-10. Iowa's second score comes late. I'm just not buying all the concern from Michigan fans, personally. Maybe I'm wrong but all of Iowa's strengths (capitalizing on turnovers, special teams, etc..) I think are neutralized by Michigan also having great special teams and being a team that generally takes care of the football. On offense I just don't think they have the athletes to hang with all of Michigans weapons in space.

M 38 - I 13

Iowa has been living on the mistakes of teams not as good as Michigan all season.  Their run defense hasn't done well against teams that can run and pass.  Iowa has pulled a couple big plays out in every come from behind victory.  Minnesota and Nebraska gifted them victories with defensive lapses.  I don't think Michigan will make those mistakes.   The coaching staff seems to be on it this year.  I have high hopes.

Credit Iowa for persisting, not quitting and coming up with plays that confused the opponents defense.  I hope Michigan's receivers have a good day.

The Michigan offense knows who it is, Iowa gets exposed. 42-13 Michigan, score is only this close because Jim pumps the brakes and puts in 2nd and 3rd team players. Garbage TD by Iowa late.

31-14, Michigan. For all the talk about this being a US-Finland olympic hockey final in 1980, this reminds me more of the Red Sox in 2004 because a) the years (upon decades) of torture that were erased with the win (OSU/Yankees). In 04 the Red Sox smoked the Cardinals in 4 because in reality the Red Sox felt minimal relative pressure even if the stakes were arguably just as high.

To that end, I think that Michigan will get an early score or two, give up a TO or special teams TD to keep Iowa in the game, and then do a repeat of the second half of the OSU game where they drive without mistakes to close things out. I hope I'm right.
