Someone will get him, but it might only be for a 5th or 6th round pick. As much as I don't like the guy, if the Lions got him for a 5th or 6th rounder, that's not a bad value. He has as much chance at being a solid NFLer as about anyone else you'd get at that spot.
late declaring for the draft (yes, I know he's leaving early) and will go for the trifecta by holding out. I'm sure he thinks he should get 1st round QB money. If his agent is smart he'll insist on a full-time chauffer.
Describing Pryor as a late round pick. I'm not sure that he'd get taken before Posey, for that matter. There's about a million things wrong with his game. I'm not sure that the Newton analogy holds up, except that they are both big and fast. Pryor just isn't that good at the whole throwing the football thing, which lots of NFL teams emphasize in the QB selections . . .
In all honesty this is probably his best option. His college career is over and it sounds like he's going to be the proverbial scapegoat of Tressels demise.
English question: Does the word scapegoat describe you if you're actually mostly responsible?
he meant to type a goat that is trying to escape.
"proverbial scapegoat of Tressels demise."
Is he mostly responsible for JT's fall? No. I don't think so. Tressel was doing this stuff for so long. If this had just been TP acting out or getting side benefits, JT would still be there. However, this goes way back to a whole bunch of players.
The sad part is, the OSU fans appear to be blaming most of this on TP and in that way are averting much of the blame from where it really belongs, their beloved senator. I think scapegoat is a perfect word.
What I wonder is how differently TP would have turned out if he didn't end up with a coach like Tressel who catered to his sense of entitlement. How differently whould TP have developed if he ended up with a coach who actually taught real character as opposed to just giving it lip service.
Yep, either the supplemental draft or perhaps have a go with the Toronto Argonauts.
At this point, TP can't afford to be picky. He's got to leverage that athleticism into some income and then try not to blow it all before he's 35.
"He's got to leverage that athleticism into some income and then try not to blow it all before he's 35"
I was thinking more like 25 . . . especially considering how many tats, cars, weed and prostitutes he's now going to have to pay for without the OSU equipment room to himself.
I get how people like TP or some others can apply to be drafted, but can those who applied to the original draft and went undrafted go into it as well?
I believe they could, theoretically, but why would a team give up a draft pick in next year's draft for a guy they didn't pick in this year's draft? Why wouldn't they just sign him as a free agent? Then they wouldn't have to give up anything.
He obviously knew or was told the end was near for him in Columbus. They have had enough of him and have likely politely (or not so) told him that this is going to end badly so make a graceful exit but keep your mouth shut...
Basically just shouting out the phrase, "Seeya!" the wayt South Park's Randy Marsh would say it.
it's not like that's stopped him from playing before
Federal agents?
I just can't see Pryor playing another snap next year. He knows that he's going down and he wants to jump ship asap. To me this can already be assumed, the main thing is just does anybody else have to leave...
