Golden and Pool(e) probably shouldn't be put in the same title together.

That being said, proud of that young man.  He is a Klay-mold and fitting fine on what is looking like a great team that is finding its groove just in time to return to full strength.

He’s looking great. Just needs to raise his 3% a bit. He was only making around 30% last time I checked. Increase that and he can be a legit star.

To put that in perspective, Allen Iverson was a career 31.3% shooter from 3. Kobe was at 32.9. MJ was 32.7. That’s 3 pretty legit star guards. Percentages have increased, but 35% is good enough to demand you get defended behind the line, opening up the court for Steph and Klay. That’s really all GS is going to ask of him once Klay is back. That, and leading the 2nd unit when Steph sits.

As of this morning, 22/62, 35.5% after going 6/9 against NO last night - not sure why you're ignoring that game, the results of which were clearly available when you posted.

Still early in the season, so one great or bad game has an outsized effect on the percentages. Given his performance last season, I'd say he's fine.

Yep, they have given him significant minutes to start his career, and the injuries to Steph and Klay worked out in his favor. Because boy was he struggling his first year. To stick with him says something, about the team and about him. Must be helpful to have Steph and Kerr as mentors too. Even Stephen A was singing his praises last night. Love to see it

He's really improved his shooting overall (almost 36% from 3 this year) and he's clearly more comfortable in his role opposite of Curry.  He does turn the ball over a bit more than you'd like (2.5 TOs a game), but GSW doesn't seem to really mind that.  It also does seem like his defense has improved a bit, which is a part of his game that needed to tighten up to keep him on the court.

Glad he's doing well; I'll admit to thinking he left a year early but glad he was able to overcome his struggles.

I didn’t think he was ready to leave after his 2nd year, and the advanced metrics his rookie year on the warriors were pretty terrible by even rookie standards.

But since the middle of last year or so, he’s been really coming along. Good to see from him!

For last season, the average 3P% across the entire league for all games was 36.7 percent compared to his 35.5%. For eFG he is at 54.9% vs 53.8% for league average last year. So fair to say that overall he is a league average shooter so far this year. But he's doing that with a bit higher usage and more minutes too which are more often coming against starters. He's still only 22 and he's clearly become more comfortable. TBD on whether he becomes a good shooter by NBA standards.

The other interesting question is where he fits in Golden State's rotation and his role once Klay gets back, especially with Payton getting minutes now. There's flexibility in skillsets for the Warriors backcourt combinations, but still, only so many minutes to go around.
