The update of the stadium will include all wiring of either permanent lights or portable lights. Not the lights themselves, but everything will be in the structure to just “plug them in” Personally I would love night games in September, when the temperature can be in the mid 80s which makes it about 100 in the stadium, why not wait till the sun goes down and it’s cooler.

it seems like a huge undertaking to bring in enough lights to illuminate someplace as large as a football field for every night game but financially risky to put in permanent lights if a)we try a night game and it doesn't work out for whatever reason or b)we never bother to try a night game after we erect them. quite the conundrum.

I would think Ann Arbor would make a lot more money if we had night games. More time on Saturday to buy food, people staying at hotels, etc.

I have read many posts that seem to think that UM never plays at home at night. Not so fast those of you who don't attend every game! I was in AA for a night game vs. Penn St. just a few years ago - You might remember the game... Lloyd argued for 2 seconds back on the clock late in the game and got them. With only those very two ticks left in the game, Mario Manningham catches a TD pass in the corner of the endzone. I was sitting in that corner and that was one of the best games I will ever see in my life. I took one of my friends to that game and he had never seen a live football game. What a game to start off with! The TV guys brought all the lights and there were four cranes full of them in each corner. They also had one of those robot cameras on the zip line that you see in Monday Night Football. If the TV people wanna bring the lights in, then that's fine with me. I do, however prefer tailgating in the morning and going to Ashley's after the game. The beer selection there is unbelievable.
