Parking Tomorrow

Submitted by Eric on

I will be at the game doing photos for the Ann Arbor Observer. What is a good place to park for cheap? There is no "media" parking for the game. The University offered me a single game parking pass for $40, but I declined.  Any help is greatly appreciated!

Check out the neighborhood across from the stadium.  I've tailgated there the past 4 years, and you can find things right across the street from the stadium for around $30, and stuff a few blocks away but still within great walking distance for around $20 or less.  Just drive around in the morning and I'm sure you'll find something.

Can we bring a small bag into the stadium? Umgoblue says nothing allowed, even purses. I really don't want to hold all my wife's shit and rain gear. Ant input would be appreciated!

Absolutely no bags.  You could try stuffing a small bag into your back pocket and taking it out once you get in the stadium, but they'll stop you at the gates if they see any resemblence of a bag.  I've seen many pissed off people in the past few years.

They are looking closely at your pockets when you enter and if they think anything is in there they will ask you to show them what it is. Ye be warned if it's a bag. Same thing with looking under jackets and sweaters

Cargo pants....i ended up putting my wife's purse into one of my cargo pockets and the security said that was fine. If one's carrying a bag or purse security won't let the in. No exceptions from what I've seen the first 3 games

I would park on Marian Ave. It's a side street in the neighborhood off Scio Church road. It's like a 5-10 minute walk partially through the woods but you end up West of the stadium, by Pioneer's Tennis Courts. Maybe a little bit of a walk but the parking in the entire neighborhood is free

If you're really inclined, you can park in the Catherine/Ann neighborhood for free. It's a 25 minute walk through downtown though. You can leave early and mostly without traffic from this location. Just 50 minutes roundtrip walking.

There is a parking lot adjacent to Happy's Pizza that is right next to a side street (forgot the name), but it's the perfect spot to leave from after the game.  Bypass all traffic.

I bit late of a reply, but I parked at the holiday inn on packard. $3 round trip per person to take the shuttle from there to the stadium and back. Highly recommended if you aren't tailgating.
