It’d be an interesting argument. You can’t judge talent on future expectations… but it’s hard to imagine finding a college team with a better collection of draft picks. I haven’t looked into the issue, though, so I can’t say. Alton might have a better idea.

But preseason #1? Unanimous. Alas, polls don’t matter.

Yeah not sure who knows college hockey history that well, but historically NHL talent wasn't much in college hockey and I don't remember a team in recent memory with this much talent

The '21-22 University of Michigan squad will feature:
• Power (1st oa '21)
• Beniers (2nd oa '21)
• Hughes (4th oa '21)
• Johnson (5th oa '21)
• Samoskevich (24th oa '21)
• Brisson (29th oa '20)
• Beecher (30th oa '19)
• Bordeleau (38th oa '20)

They might be an okay team

It cannot be overstated how huge this is. Forget all the hopeful optimism and talk that they’d like to come back: each of these guys could be millionaires and, if their franchise had made it an issue, would have signed.

To get all of these guys back on the team together… expectations have never been higher.

I mean, they can’t be. This is the year. They are the hockey galacticos, the greatest show on ice, a collection of talent as amazing as any I can recall in college hockey history.

It is time for the tenth banner.

More than ever, I wish the post season was best-of 3, 5, or 7. Obviously they haven't skated as a team yet but it'll be a huge disappointment if they arent a 1 seed at minimum

Holy shit, that's incredible! Throw in Luke Hughes (?) and Michigan will have 4 of the top 5 picks in this past years draft for the entire season. With Portillo between the pipes, there is a lot of top end NHL talent on this team and the sky is really the limit!
