"Impossible angle" is one of those phrases that NHL announcers shouldn't use anymore
It shows a disregard for even the most basic axioms of three-dimensional geometry.

I think he has been playing pretty well this series, some good chances, etc. hopefully this gets him on a bit of a streak.
Edit: damn you OP for picking the first broom gif on google search before me haha
Hope you like Winnipeg!
To the Great White North.
Take off! It's a beauty way to go!
Not cool man.
After their first couple, they owed us one of those
Love the "Lets go Red Wings!" chant.

Finish him.
Game. Blouses.
This quote is awesome.
Hanzal = huge doosh for throwing his stick at Eaves on the empty net breakaway...that's an auto penalty shot right there
Seriously that was a bush league move
Hanzal was playing street hockey-style. I've totally done/seen that same trick many times.
What happens if you get a penalty shot on an empty net? Do they get to put a defender in there since the goalie wasnt on the ice?
They just count it as a goal. No shot is taken.
6-3 Wings on an empty netter by Eaves.
SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP
BOOM. Eavess- Eavesvd- Eaves'd! Or something.
How sweep it is!!
Please do not let this be the end for the Yotes. Save the Yotes.
that the golfing is superb in Phoenix this time of year.
How is the golfing in Manitoba?
Hell yes Wings! I really hope this is not the last game ever for Phoenix though.
If it is, and they move back to Winterpeg, that's two less home games per year for the Red Wings.
So be it. I'll be glad to see the mule and Z next series after a nice long break, bring on San Jose, (best guess) and I don't have a snowball's chance of making it to work on time tomorrow. Go Wings, Go Blue, go go gadget sleep number.
Be seein y'all.
I kind of feel bad for the 'Yotes and their fans. It's gotta be sad losing a team, and in this fashion.
If the fans filled the seats, maybe they wouldn't have money problems?
This. Where were all these fans during the regular season when they were averaging a pathetic 12,000 per game?

I feel for their season ticket holders but not their bandwagon fans that only show up in the playoffs.
Even more of a bummer for all the transplanted Wings' fans out there.
The Wings completely dominated the series. I honestly didn't think it was gonna be as easy as it was. I really thought Phoenix's solid defensive play, physicality and Bryzgalov were gonna give Detroit fits. And we would really need to capitalize on the Powerplay to put Phoenix away quickly.
But, that sure wasn't the case. I think I predicted it in 6 but...I'll gladly take the sweep. The extra time off should really help us out, Franzen will have time to heal up and will be getting our best playoff performer back in Zetterberg for round 2..so we should be just that much better! GO WINGS!!
Eh, Bryzgalov was terrible in last year's series too. And they lost their best shutdown defenseman from last year in Michalek. Not to mention Detroit didn't have to go on a tear down the stretch this time to make the playoffs. I didn't expect it to be a long series (I picked Detroit in 5 in my bracket pool), but outside of the third period of Game 2, Detroit never seemed to be threatened down the stretch in this series. Add Hank to the mix (hopefully he'll be healthy enough to return for that) and there's not a team out there that Detroit can't beat.
I didn't expect a whole lot more than what the Yotes showed. They lack depth and have a shady defense. The one thing that was worse than expected was Bryzgalov.
What was really surprising, though, was Detroit's team defense, which was horrible during the regular season. The Wings often "flip the switch" going into the playoffs, but the team defense this year was the worst since the lockout, so I was somewhat skeptical about that switch being flipped this year. We ended up seeing a Wings team firing on all cylinders though, and without Zetterberg to boot. Made for a boring, albeit satisfying, series. If they continue playing this way, they'll be in line for a real strong run indeed.
Just woke up and saw the score.
YES!
