OT: Why not? Saturday drinking thread...let's start early!

Submitted by BlueNation on

It's a Saturday in July .It's hot outside. That means it's time to start drinking. Let's make it count! I have an Oberon left over from last weekend and after that it's Bud Light for me. As always, Go Blue!

Speaking only for myself, you split wood now because you want it to cook in the heat to dry it out.

This wood wont be burned for probably 2 or 3 years at the soonest.

And besides...its not much fun to split wood in Dec. or Feb.

No such thing as "excessively prepared" if you burn wood.

when my kids are of age to be in sports, i'm goin gto have to draft a letter to the coach apologizing and warning them in advance that i'll be his/her worse nightmare.

went to go see my little sisters Highschool bball team. had the kids pressing the entire game, they were so gassed that the other team ran right passed them.  Then the ofence consisted of 5 girls standing on the perimeter passing the ball around. and shooting a bad 3.

My sister who was there starting SG improvised a couple nice drives to the basket and was pulled aside to stop show boating...

I was fuming.

Leinenkugel sunset wheat. Not the best beer, but quite refreshing on a day like today.. Thankfully cooler temperatures are in store for next week (if you reside in the midwest).

You all dress up in baseball gear, get matching t-shirts (we had bright yellow) and walk around to 9 bars (9 innings). Bring a Sharpie and write your score on the back of the shirt - ours has all the bars on the back.

1 run: light beer
2 runs: heavy beer (5% ABV or higher) or wine
3 runs: mixed drink or girly shot
4 runs: straight shot

Lose runs if you spill your drink or spill someone else's drink or fall at any point of the night.

I am confined to water and soda for the time being, for as much as I would like to break out a bottle of Strongbow cider right now, it might look bad if Detroit Edison employees were seen drinking on company property. However, I do fully intend to have some Strongbow later.

Yes, I am actually dispatching people to outages as I type on MGoBlog.

A mix of IPAs, catching up on the news since I was away on vacation for the past week or so.  Essentially deadening the constant pain from the sunburn I'm slowly recovering from.  The one time you should listen to your wife is about sunscreen.

From Munich. One of just a handful of decent beers here in Switzerland. Would love a Sierra Nevada or Dale's.

Smart choice, sir. I have an uncle who swears by PBR. You know, one of "those" guys. But, because of it, Pabst always has had a soft spot in my heart.

"I don't always drink shitty beer. But when I do, I drink PBR."

(I'm at work and way too lazy ot make that into a meme.)

On a trip through Milwaukee, a few friends and I stopped at what was the Pabst Brewery. It's just a beer hall now with a gift shop and a tour, but it was pretty cool. Naturally, I had to have a Blue Ribbon on draft and it wasn't bad.

Milwaukee is a pretty cool town. It's owned by Miller, but it has a lot of beer history which is pretty cool. And they have a Cheesecake Factory, which means I didn't eat for three days after I left.

Water and reading Catholic history/theology at the moment. Later I will get started on MOAR ESSAYZ and maybe buy a sixer from my local gas station after that.

Sippin' on my own creation of fresh strawberry juice and lemon with a tad bit of honey and sugar while playing borderlands after an extremely intense workout of running hills in 105 degree weather, Nothin like it.
