OT: Where I brazenly pimp a band
This may be against the etiquette of the site or merely lame, in which case I apologize and offer a defense that while it's early, people are over at the house and I've been drinking for awhile. But after spontaneously dancing when this track came on the system, I have to pimp a new band that is rather obscure (though they were on Letterman last month, check it out). They are called "The Heavy" and are from the UK, but they play the coolest old school funk/60's soul/garage rock influenced rock and roll around. Great vocals and playing, variety and great grooves. Their second disc is out called "The House That Dirt Built," The single is "How you like me Now?" and has a fantastic hook can't be stopped. End of pimpery, but since there are no major reviews for it, I had to do it myself.

Good band with good tunes, but not all that obscure when they've been on Letterman and in a Super Bowl commercial.

get in the way of a good story' category. In defense of 'The Heavy', they changed some things up then titled it 'How do you like me now?'

Wow, I had not heard this. If Dyke and the Blazers are not receiving royalties from The Heavy and Kia there's some major injustice going on.

Glad you posted-you too jam706, that is a good vid-, always looking for fresh music. Or, perhaps a new take on an old tune.

I'll reciprocate. Post-Nothing by the Japandroids straight up rocks. Beach House's Teen Dream is much more mellow but I think I love every single song on the album. The lead singer has a great/hauntingly beautiful voice.

The Clash is still the only band that matters.
