OT: Thursday Night College Football Open Thread

Submitted by formerlyanonymous on
Since many of us will be watching games tonight, I thought I'd centralize the conversation. I'm giddily awaiting the start to the USC/NCSU start and admittedly, lots of Erin Andrews. Games on the TV docket:
  • South Carolina @ North Carolina State (ESPN, 7pm)
  • Troy @ Bowling Green (BCSN, 7pm)
  • North Texas @ Ball State (ESPNU, 7:30pm)
  • Eastern Kentucky @ Indiana (BTN, 8pm)
  • Utah State @ 18 Utah (MTN, 9pm)
  • Oregon @ Boise State (ESPN, 10:15pm)
Who's got money on EKU? And what's with Indiana hosting a Thursday night home game? (okay, you're right, it's Indiana, it doesn't matter. sorry jamiemac)

Did anyone else see the Chick-fil-a commercial about a free chicken sandwich if you wear t-shirt with your favorite team logo on it. Looks like I'm going to Chick-fil-a after the game on Saturday.

Less than 200 combined yards of offense so far (only 7 for Oregon..?!). Suddenly, USC-E/NCSU didn't look so bad? (Well, no, it still sucked.)

Um, did anyone else just see that Boise State commercial? The one that combined life music* with the advantages of a BSU education? ... yeah. *The type of song that comes on towards the end of an episode of Scrubs or Grey's Anatomy, as the main character meditates on what they've learned in that episode.

Boise State is handing the game to Oregon. But Oregon has decided they don't want the win. Phil Knight must have wanted a road loss for his university.

I just lost all respect for Oregon. WOW. Edit: I shouldn't hold one idiot's actions against the whole program, but not a good start to Chip Kelly's head coaching career.
