Having watched him a lot there has been great improvement from his time at Michigan.  His team has gotten down and thats when he tries to do too much, also the schedule has been very tough.

The rest of the ASU offense is more of the problem.  If anyone watched the ASU Oregon game (which I attended) you would have seen stupid turnovers and dropped passes.  There was a play where the receiver caught the ball and on his way to ground during a tackle, decided to drop it for no apparent reason.  Another disastrous play happened when a receiver decided to think the play was over and watch an Oregon defender run for a TD.  The Pac-10 looks decent this year and he will continue to struggle until his offensive teammates find their groove.  Gerrell Robinson could be one of his biggest tools.

Dodd from CBSSports (he, too, is not a bastion of quality journalism) specifically names Threet and his 7 ints in 2 games in his Not So Hot 10

Threet didn't throw many picks at UM despite no O-line and badt receivers.  I find this odd he's chucking them up at ASU.

Well, that interception that Threet threw against Toledo which was returned 99 yards for a TD still gives me nightmares.  That was the difference in a 10-7 game.

That Toledo team might be the absolute worst team we have ever lost to in the 130 year history of Michigan football.

Threet's star never really rose.  A couple of media people got infatuated with him because he had one or two good games at the helm of a Pac Ten team.

His mechanics still suck, and they will bite him in the ass when it counts the most.  Ironically enough, he could get away with throwing the ball sidearm more in a spread option because of more space in which to release the ball, but he is obviously too slow to run that offense.

Threet has struggled a bit this year, but ASU just played a really tough part of their schedule and have been trying to match points with two of the more dynamic offenses in the country.  I still think he will be serviceable QB at the end of the year, and may find his way onto an NFL roster just because he has the tools to be a good QB.  Always liked him, and wish him the best.

He was able to last a couple years as an NFL backup.  Granted, playing at UM gave him a lot of exposure, but he could be a #3 QB in the NFL.  If Stanton can hang around, then Threet can earn an NFL paycheck.
