OT: Stanford QB K.J. Costello enters transfer protocol

Submitted by Scout96 on December 18th, 2019 at 10:19 PM

Stanford QB K.J. Costello, 2nd team PAC12 in 2018 has entered the transfer protocol.  I remember we recruited him at one point.  Not sure we would have interest, but could be just as interesting to see where he ends up.  He is a graduate transfer.

He was going to commit the summer before Hoke got fired. Hoke didn't take his commitment for some reason. Having Costello here would've helped a fuck ton.

This seems wrong. The summer before Hoke’s final season (2014) was a full year before Costello committed anywhere. We had just offered him that summer. Costello received two crystal balls between March and August of 2014: one to USC and one to Stanford. He received another to Stanford in November of 2014.

I’d love to hear the evidence that proves he was going to commit to Michigan but Hoke did not accept the commitment of a top 100 QB that we had literally just offered, and who already had a crystal ball to the school he committed to a year later.

It's weird Sean keeps posting here, but kudos to you for at least staying on brand.

For the record, Michigan has 5 guys in the transfer portal for 2020; MSU, for example, has 7.  So Michigan doesn't even lead the state of Michigan in the transfer category.

He completed 65% of his passes as a redshirt sophomore for over 3,500 yards and 29 touchdowns! He did have 11 interceptions which is not bad and a 155 passer rating... He has a great arm in my opinion really good and he's pretty athletic at 6 foot 5 225 lb. I hope he comes and hopefully Milton And McCaffrey stick around and compete.  I'm being greedy...Want Want!!!

I want McCaffrey starting. It's his time and I think he'll perform much better than alot of fans seem to think. It's just my opinion, but I think Harbaugh playing him this year proves he felt Dylan was too talented to sit on the bench all season. He just needs to learn to slide or run out of bounds to avoid those big hits.

you're taking some negs for this, and while i don't think 'sexy' is the word for a tractor, i nevertheless support you on the idea of a tractor having great value.  in fact, the more tractors the better.  i know we shouldn't covet other farmers' tractors, but sometimes that is difficult.  tractor greed is a real thing.  fight the good fight.  keep your tractor pure.

and retrain your sparty to be maize and blue.  could work.

A lot has been made of Harbaugh’s “inability” to develop a star QB but at the end of the day he has chased good players and they have unwisely chosen to go elsewhere. Gotta think Josh Rosen, Jarrett Stidham, and Costello would choose the good guys if they could do it over again.

Great. Now M'll get him for a year as a sr starter and miss out on another year of development for a younger, more exciting prospect.

Yeah...I mean it was great watching those 3 Heisman candidates develop at their respective schools and help their schools earn 3 out of 4 places in the College Football Playoffs....oh wait, Burrows transferred from Ohio State to LSU, Fields transferred from Georgia to Ohio State and Hurts transferred from Alabama to Oklahoma.
