OT: Stanford QB K.J. Costello enters transfer protocol
Stanford QB K.J. Costello, 2nd team PAC12 in 2018 has entered the transfer protocol. I remember we recruited him at one point. Not sure we would have interest, but could be just as interesting to see where he ends up. He is a graduate transfer.

He was going to commit the summer before Hoke got fired. Hoke didn't take his commitment for some reason. Having Costello here would've helped a fuck ton.
December 19th, 2019 at 11:42 AM ^
Because bro, Alex Malzone was the QB of the future. Only an idiot couldn't see that.
December 19th, 2019 at 11:51 AM ^
This seems wrong. The summer before Hoke’s final season (2014) was a full year before Costello committed anywhere. We had just offered him that summer. Costello received two crystal balls between March and August of 2014: one to USC and one to Stanford. He received another to Stanford in November of 2014.
I’d love to hear the evidence that proves he was going to commit to Michigan but Hoke did not accept the commitment of a top 100 QB that we had literally just offered, and who already had a crystal ball to the school he committed to a year later.

Let's take Stanford OL Devery Hamilton. You can never have enough experienced starters on the lines.
December 18th, 2019 at 10:23 PM ^
What is going on at Stanford? I think this is now 12 or 13 players in the transfer portal.
December 18th, 2019 at 10:27 PM ^
it's too bad the Cardinal won one too many games, or we could bring back the old "I can think of 3-9 reasons why"
December 18th, 2019 at 10:31 PM ^
Probably the same thing that’s going on at UM. Let’s not pretend UM doesn’t lead college football in the transfer category.
December 18th, 2019 at 10:52 PM ^
Let's not pretend you know what you're talking about.
December 18th, 2019 at 11:40 PM ^
Maizen's burner account is lame.
December 19th, 2019 at 1:01 AM ^
Why do you do this? Are you having fun?
December 19th, 2019 at 3:56 AM ^
maizen gonna maizen
December 19th, 2019 at 9:10 AM ^
Truly a'maizen.
December 19th, 2019 at 9:46 AM ^
I knew you'd show your true colors as NSD approached. Obvious Maizen account is obvious.
December 19th, 2019 at 9:54 AM ^
If only you would transfer.
December 19th, 2019 at 12:23 PM ^
It's weird Sean keeps posting here, but kudos to you for at least staying on brand.
For the record, Michigan has 5 guys in the transfer portal for 2020; MSU, for example, has 7. So Michigan doesn't even lead the state of Michigan in the transfer category.
December 19th, 2019 at 12:55 PM ^
We don't have to pretend, because they dont.
December 18th, 2019 at 11:51 PM ^
I’m surprised Hinton stuck there with how that program is trending.
December 19th, 2019 at 12:25 AM ^
I posted this on another thread, but there are also 12 - 4 star quarterbacks in the portal as of today. It is a new era, Heisman winners are making the passage through the portal, there is a real opportunity to land elite players.
December 19th, 2019 at 1:25 PM ^
That's good to know. We probably don't need to make a bid for one of them. But if one of our current QB's were to enter the portal......
December 19th, 2019 at 1:35 AM ^
There’s the fact that they had the down year their recruiting would have indicated they’d be getting sooner or later, combined with a possible coaching change in the next few weeks.
December 18th, 2019 at 10:29 PM ^
He completed 65% of his passes as a redshirt sophomore for over 3,500 yards and 29 touchdowns! He did have 11 interceptions which is not bad and a 155 passer rating... He has a great arm in my opinion really good and he's pretty athletic at 6 foot 5 225 lb. I hope he comes and hopefully Milton And McCaffrey stick around and compete. I'm being greedy...Want Want!!!
December 19th, 2019 at 1:17 PM ^
I want McCaffrey starting. It's his time and I think he'll perform much better than alot of fans seem to think. It's just my opinion, but I think Harbaugh playing him this year proves he felt Dylan was too talented to sit on the bench all season. He just needs to learn to slide or run out of bounds to avoid those big hits.

Sparty thinks my tractor is sexy.
December 19th, 2019 at 5:19 AM ^
you're taking some negs for this, and while i don't think 'sexy' is the word for a tractor, i nevertheless support you on the idea of a tractor having great value. in fact, the more tractors the better. i know we shouldn't covet other farmers' tractors, but sometimes that is difficult. tractor greed is a real thing. fight the good fight. keep your tractor pure.
and retrain your sparty to be maize and blue. could work.
December 19th, 2019 at 8:59 AM ^
This post is hilarious.
December 19th, 2019 at 9:23 AM ^
I could use a tractor to grade my road.
December 19th, 2019 at 9:56 AM ^
I got gonorrhea from riding a tractor in my bathing suit.

dude, what are you doing with your wet clutch that could possibly cause that? maybe you need to change that fluid out and take better care of your unit. are you keeping your unit in the barn or does it stay outside? covered or uncovered?
December 19th, 2019 at 2:10 PM ^
XM I take it you are not a Seinfeld fan? Lol.
December 19th, 2019 at 4:09 PM ^
i have never seen the show.
December 19th, 2019 at 10:26 AM ^
This makes the whole thread worthwhile.
December 18th, 2019 at 10:36 PM ^
A lot has been made of Harbaugh’s “inability” to develop a star QB but at the end of the day he has chased good players and they have unwisely chosen to go elsewhere. Gotta think Josh Rosen, Jarrett Stidham, and Costello would choose the good guys if they could do it over again.
December 18th, 2019 at 10:38 PM ^
Probably add Patterson to that list as well coming out of high school
December 19th, 2019 at 11:12 AM ^
Josh Rosen was never going to leave California, and I don't blame him. UCLA is as good of a school academically as Michigan. Rosen and Stidham got drafted and Costello has a Stanford degree. I'm not sure they're regretting anything.
December 19th, 2019 at 1:12 PM ^
True. DTR is probably the closest to regretting his decision, but even then he's at UCLA
December 18th, 2019 at 10:37 PM ^
Rather see McCaffrey and Milton in year 2 of the Gattis offense. Wish Shea could've had Gattis in 2018 as well.
December 18th, 2019 at 10:43 PM ^
December 19th, 2019 at 8:35 AM ^
wait, so it isn't a good idea to change offenses every season?
December 18th, 2019 at 10:49 PM ^
Great. Now M'll get him for a year as a sr starter and miss out on another year of development for a younger, more exciting prospect.
/s..?
December 19th, 2019 at 10:43 AM ^
Yeah...I mean it was great watching those 3 Heisman candidates develop at their respective schools and help their schools earn 3 out of 4 places in the College Football Playoffs....oh wait, Burrows transferred from Ohio State to LSU, Fields transferred from Georgia to Ohio State and Hurts transferred from Alabama to Oklahoma.
December 21st, 2019 at 10:43 PM ^
Good take. I'm sure those 3 are the rule and not the exceptions.
December 18th, 2019 at 10:54 PM ^
It would be nice to have the same qb for 3 years.
December 19th, 2019 at 11:40 AM ^
Yeah, if he were actually a good QB. Three years of Sheridan or O’Korn is terrifying to contemplate.
December 18th, 2019 at 11:04 PM ^
He's good. Let's bag him!
December 18th, 2019 at 11:10 PM ^
Is transfer protocol when you get concussed and immediately begin the transfer process?
December 19th, 2019 at 5:34 AM ^
Yes. He hit the event horizon too hard while entering the portal. Could be a couple weeks before he's cleared.
December 19th, 2019 at 9:26 AM ^
You go through naked. Something about the field generated by a living organism. Nothing dead will go.
