OT- St Patty's Day vs Game Day

Submitted by Hail-Storm on

So the tournament starting on St Patty's day is about as good as it gets.  Both are days that are meant to be speant at a bar drinking all day.  I only just realized one hicup in my plans.

I planned on getting into my best green St Patty's gear when I realized I also want to support the team (and not that team). Just a heads up to all the folks like me who only think about 5 minutes in advance.  Before heading to the bar tomorrow, remember to include some maize and blue amongst all the to St Patty's green to support the team.

EDIT: Others pointed out I am a dumbass and can't read a calendar. Game day on FRIDAY, not to be confused with THURSDAY. Sorry, I was a student during the Ellerbe years and am still relativally new to this whole "having my team in the tournament" thing and jumped the gun.

Patrick's day is not even on my radar.  In fact, it has always kind of annoyed me.  This week is all about Friday.

I used to work in downtown DC (19th and M) and my 2nd floor office window looked out on an alley that was the ingress to a bar tucked in behind some office buildings (can't remember the bar, but it was a mainstay in Syphilis Triangle).  St. Patrick's Day, coupled with NCAA hoops, was painful, because all the hooligans would be raising hell, in my hearing, while I was slaving for the man.  I could look out and see the debauchery, knowing I had to suck it up until 5 before I could partake.

That was a painful time for a 22yo lad.

The more important lessons are:

1.  Stay away from Conor O'Neills.  They start charging $5 for a plastic cup of beer.  Pass.

2.  Avoid beer dyed green.  After a few pitchers the dye will make you puke.

even if game day wasn't friday, what difference does it make?

st. patty's = go to a bar

game day = go to a bar.

i sense a theme.
