OT - Spartans vs Gators - Who has the most arrests?

Submitted by swdude12 on

The media was making a big deal about all the Florida Gators getting arrested during Urban Meyer coaching span... Why because they are a top teir program. Why hasnt the media attacked MSU? but we get the attention for going over in practice time for stretching.

What are the total # of arrests under Dantonio? i know florida was 30 right?

Whos winning the criminal battle MSU or UF?

Way to state it.

I really think a win October 9 and the MSU talk will die down to next to nothing.  We're just an edgy fidgety fan base right now.

A win in the mold of the old days will get our collective groove and focus back on the big picture of championships and clobbering of OSU.

Gators. It's not even close.

Although the fact that Dantonio's program has amassed 16 arrests in about a 2-year span has to challenge for a record of some kind.

MSU's track record being what it is, I can't imagine why any parent would entrust him with their child's future.

As someone who used to live in Gainesville and work in the medai down there, TRUST ME, there is so much more that the Gainesville PD lets slide because they are all Gator honks. There is absolutely nothing to do in Gainesville but get wasted, scream "WOO, GO GATORS!" and get in bar fights.

In addition, driving 15 miles in any direction of Gainesville puts you smack dab in Deliverance.

I really don't care about Sparty but I am curious about the consistency of OUR media.  The national media doesn't really care about Sparty.  But the local media would be all over this Sims arrest if he were attending Michigan.  Again, it isn't about an obsession with Sparty but wondering when some balance is going to show up in our local media.

There would be no less than 3 articles about how Rich Rod is recruiting "anyone" who can help them win, with no care for the University.  But Dantonio isn't held to the same standards.  And I realize that U of M and MSU have different standards internally but the media should report the same way, regardless of which school is in question.

MSU has around 15 arrests in the last 2 years and I don't remember 1 from Michigan.  But our local media still portrays Dantonio as a disciplinarian and Rodriguez as a maverick.

What I found interesting was that the media (ESPN) made a big deal of the 30-player milestone at Florida under Urban Meyer, but I don't remember any similar stories when the 30th Tressel-era Buckeye was arrested back in 2008. I remember seeing it covered on a few Michigan blogs, but not on SportsCenter like the Florida thing was. http://michiganagainsttheworld.blogspot.com/2008/07/buckeye-milestone.h… http://spawnofmzone.blogspot.com/2008/07/special-request.html
