I hate that the USMNT game starts so late.  It's nobody's fault other than geography's (damn you, geography!), but still.

In any event, curious to see how the Arena-led team plays tonight.  We. Will. ...

Has to win tonight. If they don't, they will likely be missing the World Cup, which would be an absolutely ridiculous thing to ponder, in a conference as soft as CONCACAF.

Yep. And 3 probably starters picked up injuries in the like 2 weeks before the qualifiers. Because of course. And now the roster has a very Klinsmann-y feel. There's like 8 CBs on the roster! Gah. People will be out of position for sure.

And so today begins the offseason, with only soccer to get me through the long sports drought until college football begins again. Let's go USA! Need a win tonight.

I know I could google this, but I am sure others are wondering this too, so can someone please do a quick general  summary of the current USMNT world cup qualifying situation ?

Thanks.

Going to be a tough match, if they can't break through.  I've read/heard that Honduras might come out or at some point play with 5 in the back and play 10 behind the ball.

That's what I've read they tend to do on the road.  Bad match to be missing Wood up front with his movement as well as Johnson as an attacking option.  At least Nagbe can play the left wing pretty well.  No one on the roster to replace Wood though with Morris also injured.  Does Dempsey start even though he hasn't played hardley any soccer since his heart issues?

Anyone in the A2 area planning to watch this game? I used to do the American Outlaws thing but none of the bars we use ever commit to giving us sound if it's a Friday or Saturday night. I'm pretty much done with that project. So back to my original question. Anyone getting together locally?
