OT: Saturday Drinking Thread/ Open Thread

Submitted by justingoblue on

Well, it's later than usual and there isn't one up on the board. Tonight I'm drinking Rolling Rock out of 24oz cans, not good stuff, but I bought fifteen of them for fifteen bucks, so what the hell.

Meanwhile, the power is out at my apartment until Monday; I'm over at a friends sitting on the couch while two girls watch One Tree Hill by the season and I attempt to keep my sanity by 1) Booze and 2) MGoBlog. On the other hand, there's air conditioning, light, internet and refrigeration. What's everyone else up to this evening?

Myself on 2 other friends perform a biweekly comics podcast.  We select a character and read every comic that character has ever been in.  We discuss the character over several podcasts and go in-depth into issues, characters, likes/dislikes, etc.

We previously read everything Captain Atom was ever in and now we're reading everything Aquaman has ever been in.

So, right now, I'm halfway throught the reading that I need to finish for this week's set of Aquaman's comics.

If anyone is interested we're on iTunes, search for "Character Sphinx".

Edit: Once I finish my reading, I'll probably celebrate with an Oberon.

How many places on the web can you go from serious comic readers to serious wine drinkers in back to back posts? Bless you MGoBlog

Smith Woodhouse tawny port 10 year old vintage. I am a fan of the English ports. I have had most of the bourbons. It pisses me off that Makers put up that ad because I actually like Makers.

Spent last night at Maumee Bay Brewing co. Had some good beers, at anice spot right on the river, but they had all this Buckeye Beer nonsense... really spoiled the atmosphere. I liked the english pale ale, red ale, and black ipa particularly. The place was strong on malt characters, but none of their hop showcases impressed me much.
