OT: Saban on CAPA via SI: “I’ve always been an advocate of players’ rights."

Article at SI: LINK. You may have heard this argument before:
"How much do we actually reinvest in quality of support staff to help develop players that may have a chance to go on and play at the next level, have great college careers, have a chance to win a championship,” Saban said. “Pretty significant budget around here, that if you look at it, it really is invested back in the players."
I suppose that sounds pretty altruistic to me.

The sad part is that there's recruits and parents who he's able to convince that he's just a wholesome, swell guy.  I bet he says "aw, shucks" on every visit he goes on.

I actually don't think Saban puts on the "Ah, shucks" routine on recruiting visits.  He does not have to.  What Saban is and what Alabama is are well known, Nick Saban has never ducked the fact that he runs football factories where ever he goes.  I think he sells titles and the NFL when he recruits.  Play for me and you will playing for titles and I will get you to the pros.  What more does he really need to say.

They absolutely have the right to get off his damn field with their weak "injuries" and "not being as good as the guy Saban just recruited".

For some reason, my mind is now changing out Eugene Levy with Nick Saban in the car sales scene from "National Lampoon's Vacation".

Saban: "You didn't order the metallic pea?"

Clark: "Metallic pea? Antarctic blue! The Sports Wagon! This isn't even the right model!"

Saban: "You know, I think you're right. I don't think this is the car. This is the new Wagon Queen Family Truckster - this is a damn fine automobile, if you want my honest opinion, beats the hell out of the Sports Wagon, but I want to make you happy, eh?"

Yeah, I think that's about the level of sincerity we're going for....

A truthful Nick Saban undoubtedly said

"I am an advocate of players rights."

Nick just let the reporter fill in the apostrophe.

Indeed, Saban will advocate for his beneficial usage of players rights in the same manner a record company will advocate for its beneficial usage of song rights.
