Did Yaklich coach Zeke at Illinois State? Anyway, this is all so terribly sad.
Looks like they may have missed each other by year. Yaklich started there in 2013-14 and Upshaw grad transferred to Hofstra in 2013-14.
Oh no!! This is terrible to hear. I was scouring the web yesterday looking for updates, this is not what I expected to hear. So sad.
Although I didn’t know him, I read some touching articles about him over the past couple of days. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and anyone else he touched during his short lifetime. It’s just not fair...
I've been to a bunch of Drive games this year but didn't go to this one becuase of the Michigan game overlap. It was tempting with a playoff berth on the line.
Terribly sad to hear he passed. Nothing I can say will help his family but I hope they shared many fond memories together.
Wishing peace to his family - may light perpetual shine upon him.
