It's great. I kinda wished Sanders and Irvin would shut up in the background though and give Eisen his moment instead of being a background chorus/echo.
RIP Stu
Edit: Never knew Eisen was a Wolverine until a few days ago... derp.

Sanders and Irvin wtf are you doing? Can you not stand to be silent for more than two seconds?

Seriously, shut tf up and let Rich do his thing

Yeah but did you see Luck? That's a quartback, booah!
January 6th, 2015 at 1:20 AM ^
Scott apparently spelled and pronounced it. Boo-yow!

This honestly felt like someone interuppting a eulogy. Why didn't the producers tell them to shut it? God damn.

Very nice piece by Eisen. The other two were morons interrupting it. Lastly, Eisen's announcement of Stu's passing yesterday was quite emotional and definitely worth a watch if not seen already.

Man if those other idiots don't shut the hell up... Ridiculous... Get em Rich, you killed it!

RIP STU. Thanks for the awesome highlights over the years. The best. I flip my pillow tonight in your honor.

The producers should have turned the mics off of those other two clowns

THIS. I could totally see those 2 guys just getting caught up in the moment and in Rich's tribute, but the mics should've been shut off. It almost sounds like they expected to be off and were just doing a side conversation. Or they're just totally clueless. My bet is on a production oversight. Although the Shanaynay crack at the end was pretty funny.

I don't know how Irvin is still on tv. There are so many former players who are great in the studio but he just doesn't have it.

2014 year of our lord...
-Making threads about the late Stu Scott
-Not making threads about the late, based Bill Bonds
I remember when he showed up shitfaced to a pistons-knicks game and heckled Pat Riley on his wardrobe choice the entire game, from courtside or front row, i dont remember. Dumars put up like 41... so he ambled over with a congratulatory embrace for JD... straight out of anchor man... OG

We memorialized the late, great Billy Bonds in the drinking thread that night. Which seemed far more appropriate.

What a touching tribute even with those other two idiots opening their skulls.
January 6th, 2015 at 1:53 AM ^
Damn that was cool.

that was amazing! I wish those turds would have been quiet and let him do his thing, though.
RIP Stuart Scott.

Gosh, I forgot just how many catchphrases Stu Scott had. And how many of them were just totally awesome.
I don't think people under about 25 realize how important and transcending SportsCenter was in the mid 90s. We all played playground sports saying these catchphrases. SC was freaking everywhere. These guys were rockstars in suits. The internet and the 24-hour news cycle sort of took away from that over the years, but man, was SportsCenter great in the glory years. Felt good watching this video tonight.

It's never iffy if it's Griffey.

Dude loved him some Will Smith.

Why would anyone watch a program with those two guys?
January 6th, 2015 at 10:56 AM ^
Didn't start watching sports center until early 2000's so i thought Stu was the norm. Didn't know how controversial his stuff was at first.
Guy was a real trailblazer.

Rich Eisen was actually in my fraternity. He is a cool guy, though surprisingly short.
Also, he used to do stand-up back in college. The more you know...

I had a chance to meet Rich Eisen at an alumni event a few months ago and was very impressed. His commentary on the passing of Stuart Scott the past couple of days has been spot on. Hearing all the stories about Stuart's generosity as a person--and the impact he had on people's lives--was especially touching.
As an aside, FYI: Eisen said during his Monday podcast that Jim Harbaugh will be appearing on the Rich Eisen Show this Thursday during the first hour. That interview should be good.
