OT: Oregon's uniforms
Going with a little change of pace from the usual "Why do we suck" and "RR should be fired" post, I wanted to get everyone thoughts on the Uniforms Oregon wore last week against Arizona. Take a look at the link below and let me know; honestly, I kind of like them.

em. They do have the best unis in college sports. not saying that UM's are classic and great, but I absolutely love all the combos they have.

My boy is the starting DB for Oregon and he absolutely loves all their uniforms as well. How cool would it be to have like 25 different uni combos. I agree ours are awesome in their own right, but you gotta love that style.

Terrible.

They're ok aside from the feathers on the shoulders. Those are awful.

I think that the duck feathers are a step up from the manhole cover pattern they've been using for the past several years.

I'm not a huge fan of the duck feathers on the shoulders, but the dark, matte helmets and the general color scheme of the uniforms are pretty badass overall if that's what you're looking for. Relative to their other unis, this iteration is kind of nice, as was the all white thing they had going on a few weeks ago.

I'm gonna have to disagree. Maybe I'm just old school, but what's wrong with a home jersey and an away jersey? Is it so a bunch of people go out and buy this new jersey? Oregon is so gimicky (sp?) with that stuff, which is the opposite of what I like. Maybe it's because I'm used to Michigan, whose unis are both sharp and simple. Same with schools like SC and PSU.

I agree with your sentiment too. I'm a big fan of the traditional home and away thing as well, but Oregon has established themselves as a traditionally nontraditional school in terms of their play and their look and their loud ass stadium in the middle of Oregon, which I like.
I'd probably be calling for some heads if Michigan ever came trotting onto the field in something like that, but Oregon can pull it off because they don't have the traditionalists to answer to.

And because Phil Knight is an alumnus.

I like ours best and have always liked the simple uniforms that Alabama and PSU have. Oregons uniforms are just too loud for me.
However, the blond cheerleader is another story.

The color combination is better than most i've seen from Oregon, but those feathers are just awful

What about the duck bills on the shoes? Now that's classy as well as awesome. Nothing says "college football" to me more than uniforms designed by 12-year-old girls.
I think for the next version, they should incorporate a unicorn horn in there somewhere. That would rule.

michigan in something to flashy like that, but i do love all of the oregon uni's and the way they change it up makes it fun for the fans and players, and thats why they are my second favorite college football team

I was talking with Paul from Varsity Blue, he thinks they look like iron on wings. The nike execs last week said the wings provide some extra abrasion related stretching purpose. Minus the wings they looked good.

If they had a mascot that was mean or even somewhat intimidating, I would buy it. But ducks are cute. My grandmother isn't afraid of a duck. Someone was like "what can we do to really intimidate our opponent? What about feathers?" and someone else was like "yeah man, I totally love feathers."

God, I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate Oregon's uniforms.
When did the state of Oregon begin the "ugliest uniforms in college football" competition, anyway? I think Oregon State actually has the edge this year.

I actually like the wings and the uniform as a whole. I think its an interesting change. My only complaint is that the wings/feathers look a little small and thus slightly "off". The whole effect would be improved if the feathers actually continued over the edge of the pads and down the arm for a few inches. I certainly like the feathers more than the manhole cover effect of previous years. I also like Oregon's slightly offbeat approach to college football. They inject some change and fun into a sport that often tends towards fussiness.
Oddly, I wouldn't mind if Michigan had one weird uniform, if only for certain away games, like at OSU, just to hype up the rivalry. I do agree that the blue on maize at home is traditional and timeless.

What Sommy said.
Although, those'd be a vast improvement over the usual crap they wear, if not for the wings.

I've always really liked Oregon's Jerseys. They are definitely my favorite in the "New-Age" uniform category.
