I hope she can prove she contacted them. If so, I bet this goes away. The neg pub wont be worth it.

That's quite a tip. Next ND fans will be saying that this lady used that money to pay the Big Ten refs to screw ND.

when you're catering a charlie weis event, that might be about right for a tip.

I don't know if that would be enough. That is less than $1 per pound of food served!

F that up. At what point when you are typing this in does a $29,000 tip not ring a bell. Effing idiots! Maybe the lady thought she was paying Little Debbie for all of Captain Front Butts snack cakes.

typing error.
should have been 29.87
instead the person issuing the payment typed a "3" instead of a "." (the "3" is directly above the "." on the numeral pad, seems like an easy mistake to make).
so instead the check was written for 29387 or $29,387.
but yeah, someone should have noticed this.

Yeah, the ND fan base is going to be real torn up about this. Just when you thought nothing else could go wrong this week, something happens months ago.

Just a little fun at their expense.

Going after her really isn't worth the negative publicity.

I don't see what's bad publicity about this. The woman knows how much she makes, a check out of that bounds should raise some red flags and she had to know someone would come looking for that much money once they discovered a problem.
"Sara Gaspar of Granger says in court documents filed this week that she "thought finally something wonderful had happened" in her life when the school paid her a $29,387 tip on April 17."
The Redskins suing a woman who couldn't pay for her season tickets because of the economy, when they could have just had her sell the contract to a waiting buying - THAT'S bad publicity. But this? That "something wonderful" can only be interpreted as stealing.

I pretty much agree with what you're saying here. This woman is a moron who is trying to play the 'poor me' card on the media and on the school.
you can be damn sure she spent that money before they asked for it on purpose thinking that the problem would go away. i hope they nail he for it so maybe one more stupid person could learn a life lesson.

Ouch!!
