"the NHL might fold" thing? Would it hurt the leagues standing? Definitely. Would a few markets be in trouble? Sure. Would 2013 TV ratings be as good as this last season? No. Yes, it would hurt to see the cup go to a Russian team.

All that said, there is zero chance the NHL folds.

Please raise your right hand and repeat after me. " I (mgoblog user) will never ever ever link bleacher report article again

That being said I forgive you but espn would be a way better source. There is a part of me that wants the cap to come down. I saw a stat like 18 of the teams would be way over if the newest deal went through. Detroit would be in really good position in the coming years if that were the case. This year is going to be an interesting year to say the least.

I hope they resolve the issue, but it's not looking good. Football is only played on Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. After baseball ends...what will there be to follow at night? :(

No way I'm watching the NBA if the NHL locks out. No way

The Clash of the Titans.  Fehr trying to prove he can finally stand his ground in a labor dispute and Bettman being Bettman.  Looks like another winter without the NHL.

At least we will have great basketball and hockey teams to watch in the interim.  Go Blue!

At least if a season is cancelled/delayed, hopefully the Winter Classic will get pushed back to 2014, when I can actually go.

That being said, I think they will come to a compromise eventually. Nobody wants a second lockout in 7 years.
